Vornborg, which has been slowly falling into ruin, is attacked and its warehouses raided. Many claim this to be the work of Fravik though some claim the men were Grecan. Many dismiss the rumor outright. The ruined Vlarisian city of Vlennis, a haven for cursed mythical undead, is said to be stirring. At the ting, undead attack the unsuspecting groups there and many merchants are now too scared to come to Four Rivers. Gustav Odrinsson, a man renowned for his honor and loyalty to Storvalla Espen Lifdis, is said to have become a prized pit fighter in Olsholm and often seen in the company of a man by the name of Rolo; a servant of the Bankers of Olsholm. The blessed woman Amilae is said to have taken up the life of a hermit, living in the woodlands of the isle of Victis. Some claim she has become a hermit while others claim she experiments with dark magic.
I wonder if anyone reads and enjoys these stories. They are accurate accounts of the monthly events, and actions taking place between events that month involving online rp. It allows you a look into the ongoing story of the intriguing and political world of Avegost.
Fravik is revealed to be leading the brigands of Gala, organizing them with great success. The Dark Lord’s armies surged in the ruined stronghold of Vlennis and posed more of a threat than ever. While the various villages and fiefs fought amongst themselves a threat was growing in the ruins which could overrun the Rivermarch in months. Preparations began to be made to defeat the threat and the leader of Four Rivers, Lucius Tarsicus, seemed to be leading them. In Greca the taking of Toulille, now called Rantoft, was a major event with many of the Grecan lord’s calling for open war against Ottenby, though having just reclaimed their lands the idea of war was unappealing to many. Svendkoge continued to consolidate its power though the villages it held on its edges, Vornborg and Vinland, quickly began to deteriorate due to mismanagement. Skirmishes between Dyborgdin forces and those of the Hojengar begin to break out in the east of Ottenby. The Rose of Greca marries the daughter of Duc Usart Laporte at the behest of his closest advisor, Duc Michelle DuVois.
Without a leader and with Fravik, it’s only potential savior missing, Gala collapses and becomes a ruinous haven for bandits and brigands. With Toulille in shambles after the murder of their Comte several months before, and the decimation of their armies at the hands of the late Storval Avery, the Grecan city was easy pickings for the Ottlandish army that arose to take it in the name of Storval Steiner and his wife Storvalla Espen. Among t he casualties were many Grecan dead with Viviane DeBlanc, perhaps the only remaining leader of the Toulille, taken prisoner. Svendkoge finally began to recover from the Lazarusan sacking that had crippled it months before and the Lord Walther rewarded his loyal squire with Fae, the Lady Estrea’s handmaiden, as a wife. Rumors that the Lord Walther and his now exiled son Fravik were responsible for the massacre of priests at the siege of Olsholm months before begin to circulate. Jordal Ulfar Alfgeirsson declares his marriage to Svana, the niece of Lord Jesper- a claimaint to the throne of Langermach, null and avoid. Jordal Ulfar is attacked in his own court by Lord Jesper and is wounded but survives. Lord Jesper is also wounded but escapes Slesvik’s capitol, Valera, headed eastward. Justice in Rantoft is arbitrary and rarely found. Lady Espen Lifdis strives to keep all of her people happy but does not realize that many of ‘her people’ are conquered people who dislike her. Many are loyal to “the blue lady” however. An accused traitor, but perhaps the only competent man of Lord Avery’s forces remaining alive, Axel had been named Thegn of Vornborg by Lord Walther. He fails in his most basic duties however, and allows many of the buildings and fields to rot and go untilled. Vornborg, a once great village, slowly descends into ruin.
Vornborg is in near open rebellion to the news that their lord, the third such to be, was assassinated and that his rival Lord Walther is now in command of his lands. To squash the rebellion Walther commands that all men suspected of rebellion are to be killed along with their wives and their children sent to work in the mines. Fravik betrays his lord father’s will and refuses, instead trying to rally the people against him. With news that Fravik, the son of Lord Walther through marriage to his daughter, was attempting to usurp the throne and kill the Lord Walther many new alliances in the Rivermarch began to be formed and many old ones fell apart. The Lord Walther’s wife Estrea and her handmaiden Fae were both implicated by the brother of Arndorr in the plot to kill Lord Walther as well as Fae’s brother, Geri, who admitted to the crime. For his treachery, Geri is branded on his forehead with the mark of the traitor and his legs are broken. Storvalla Espen Lifdis asks that she use him in Vlennis as a soldier so that he may regain his honor and the Lord Walther allows it. Meanwhile, the Erydian hero Leridius led a force in battle to keep the remnants of The Dark Lord’s armies from retaking the ruined stronghold of Vlennis but failed when reinforcements were not sent and the city was nearly lost. An attempt on the Lord Walther’s life was made but his new squire, Arndorr, defended the Lord against the attempt and kept the Ulvlangton house alive. The Emperor of Erydia, Regis Amund, dies. His daughter, Aliandre, makes a claim for the throne since there is no male heir however the Golden Order rejects her claim. Erydia begins for a civil war and legionary troops are recalled from the provinces.
