Asato was clueless when it came to the rituals that human beings practiced in this city. But everywhere he went during this cold December (forced to walk on the ground, unfortunately) he saw many a festive holiday decoration. The lights that emerged -- without fire, how was that possible? -- in brilliant colours like flames made him think that they were initially the threats of the devils he had seen before.
He had jumped behind a solid block object (a trash can) the moment he saw them. They were even surrounding him! But as he watched everyone walk on without a care, not even noticing the potential threat...maybe nothing was wrong after all.
This was the third day in a row that, as he observed passers by, everyone was talking about the holiday spirit. Buying gifts for loved ones and friends. He wondered what that even meant, on top of the fact that he could even hear everyone`s conversations without fail. The starling realization that he could understand their Human language was baffling enough.
Just thinking about it...was making him terribly dizzy.
He sighed a heavy breath, trying to alleviate himself from the culture shock, hurriedly ducking out of the crowd and into the nearest building. This one looked abandoned, and he considered himself lucky. Being around too many people was bad for him.
Blue eyes were raised towards the ceiling straight away, only to find a few gashes there. This building was most definitely hole in the wall-esque, dilapidated and falling apart. To his own eyes, it had the charm of the largest town back home in Sisa, filled with the ruins of Two Cane. Were those ruins of Ransen once these large, towering skyscrapers that littered the city?
Asato wasn`t exactly an expert in those sorts of stories, but all the cats have heard the songs of old and seen the ruins. It may have been so after all.
Leaving the scholarly thoughts to the birds, his gaze ran over something unexpected on the counter. Bundles and bundles of flowers!
He truly admired the beauty of them, reminding him of the flower garden that he had been told of. Apparently it was a very well kept secret from all of Sisa. But it seemed he wouldn`t be able to visit there anymore...so this would have to do.
Behind a bouquet of yellow flowers did he see another golden hue shimmering in the light. But those weren`t petals, rather, a person instead.
He bristled slightly, worried that he`d disturbed someone here. Asato knelt down, trying to hide himself directly under the counter...but the very tips of his ears stuck out. It was impossible to stick to the ceiling now, since she would see him!
Oh...it was all in vain. The only thing to do now was jump right out the window, but there wasn`t even one of those!
He was frozen in place, one of his ears twitching slightly to wait for any sound of her movement, certain that when she came forth that he would make a leap right for the door.
Goodbye friends, I must go.
