The initial surprised response she received was hardly what she expected from the stranger upon going through with her action. After all, he was pretty large and there was hardly a reason for him to jump like that just from Fumi’s actions. “I wanted to see if it was real,” Came her response, lazily blinking up at him. “I said sorry. Jeez.” Irritation was plain in her demeanor; honestly, it wasn’t as if she had done so with malicious intent. She apologized when it was expected of her and it didn’t seem in any way inappropriate to do so. The cold and seemingly intimidating demeanor of the man was totally uncalled for — even if it was only a thing that came naturally.
However, with her reasoning explained it only took a moment for the researcher to find delight in the male’s expressiveness. While his biology seemed to be primarily human, it looked like he was capable of doing any number of catlike things, which she hardly expected. Maybe something in her had still believed the tail had been faked, but that hiss, the way his ears and tail continued to show what he was feeling, it was incredible! From a completely scientific view, of course.
"Hmm… Humans lack the amount of caudal vertebrae that you have, so I didn’t think it would be, and it looks like you have control over those ears of yours, too. Is your hearing more sensitive? Ooh, and those vocals; I wonder if you’d be able to simulate purring…" Trailing off into mumbling, it seemed that she was still going on about the interest she had in the apparent combination of human and feline anatomy displayed before her. It was fairly apparent that she didn’t pose any genuine threat, but the jargon her language quickly descended to may not have been particularly inviting, either.
"Why would it not...?" Asato didn`t understand why the authenticity of his body was even a question. His ears dropped slightly, a mix of being on guard and being utterly confused. He didn`t understand her scientific terms of his feline anatomy, but he did understand that she was curious about. Many Humans repeatedly seemed astonished by his features that were merely commonplace in Sisa. In fact, not having them was a sign that one was potentially affected with the Sickness, and would die off soon. This woman was of a curious aura, not standing down despite the obvious difference in stature. This person who resembled a Two Cane, and furthermore, a female, was much smaller and lighter than he, clearly not cut out to be a hunter gatherer as was the norm for his own species. It almost seemed as though she could break in two! Unfortunately, although he excelled in brawn, the match up was in her favor when it came to wits. Blue eyes stared dumbly as she babbled on in her scientific way. She may as well have been speaking Greek (or any language that the Two Cane spoke, for that matter. He had wondered why it was possible for a Ribikan to understand those dead speeches that they could no longer read any more).
"Ah. Purring?" Finally, a word that registered. He couldn`t really prove how keen his hearing was, so he decided to simulate that noise instead. A low growling that rose from the core of his chest, although it wasn`t exactly the most content of noises. Cats don`t only purr in delight, did you know? It`s done in healing, and also to ward off unwanted enemies.
