I am still in love with the fact that Marvel Comics made it canon that Loki is the most important person for the avengers. The team may look different in different universes, have different members, but Loki stays. And without him, they cannot form a team, cannot handle any villains, he HAS to bring them together.

Even in LS, the show that I personally hate, they kinda accidentally made it canon in the mcu as well that Loki exists for the avengers to become a team and be the best versions of themselves.

And it makes him doomed by the narrative: if no universe can exist without the avengers, yet they can't exist without Loki playing a part of their first villain, does he ever have a choice? If his sole existence is to serve their cause, to make them better, does his life even belong to him? The avengers are heroes, destined to save billions of lives, but their capacity to do that is reliant on one life being ruined and discarded. There is one person that has to be a sacrificial lamb on the altar of their success, and they don't even know about it. And they will only resent him for it.
