Currently reading. Aiming to finish at least one before the new year.
My beautiful October additions. The only one I’m still waiting for is Kingdom of Ash.
. . . . . . . . . . . #averylargeexpanseofsea #bookstagram #book #bookworm #bookshelf #booknerd #bookcomunity #booklover https://www.instagram.com/p/B85GkB2FPfN/?igshid=1t0dboeq1fpz

#Qotd : What's your favourite #ownvoices book? . . . #bookreview of #averylargeexpanseofsea by @taherehmafi . . . This story is about a life of a muslim girl after 9/11 incident in America. Shirin, a teenage girl who goes to an American school is getting bullied for being a muslim girl who wears hijab. Her parents keep on moving from place to place which makes her stay alone with no friends. The people she meets are cruel to her and hurts her by their racist comments. This starts changing when her brother introduces her to the break dancing team. There's also a guy named Ocean who shares some classes with her. What started as a simple conversation has turned into a beautiful relationship between them. ✨ Shirin is my favorite. She has a world of her own. It's like she always has this invisible shield around her to defend her from getting hurt by the verbal attacks from this cruel world. The sufferings and heartbreaks she's to go through are painful. I love how she doesn't let this world define her or her life. ✨ This book has touched heart-rending topics which need to be addressed and make you feel sorry for the people's poor comprehension but it also has happy moments. The author also expresses the relationships better, be it about the family , the sister-brother relationship, first love, even Shirin's love for break dancing, music & fashion. I listened to the audiobook which is narrated by Priya. She's the appealing voice. It's given me all the feels. ✨ People only see what they want to see! The story is set after the 9/11 incident but I feel it's still fitting. When will this kind of prejudgement will ever stop? What we consider as a simple, casual comment could hurt a person deep enough that we wouldn't have thought it would. Change starts within you. . . . #bookstagram #otcbooks #otcreview #creativebookphotography #fanart #unitedbookstagram #mybookfeatures #igreads #bibliophile #booksofig #instabooks #bookishlove #booklover #bookaddict #bookstoread #bookstagramfeatures #bookreviewer #bookblogger #bookstagramindia #thebookishclubfeature https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwj9NiiHPjK/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16wz06ntumvx9
Review - A Very Large Expanse of Sea
Check out my latest blog! Review- A Very Large Expanse of Sea
“If the decision you’ve made has brought you closer to humanity, then you’ve done the right thing.”
– Tahereh Mafi, A Very Large Expanse of Sea
Tahereh Mafi’s latest novel was my first read of 2019 and I am so happy I chose this as the book to begin my year with. I’ve never read a Tahereh Mafi book (despite owning some of them) and if I am being honest I picked this up from my local bookstore…
