Qotd: Favorite character who is a reader? . . | b o o k.r e v i e w | ♥️Love and other words♥️ . . @christinalauren has just given me one of the best heart warming stories. This book has everything from friendship, romance, heart breaks, second chance, losing a family member wrapped together which made me both happy and sad. . . 🕕 The story is told in two timelines- In "then" about how the main characters first met when they were young and their relationship started but broke apart somehow with no connection at all and in "now" when they met 11 years later. My favorite has to be the past because it has more sweet and cute factors. I just loved how they understood and supported each other and became closer, that slow building of relationship over time. It's written so beautifully that I can't stop myself from listening to the audio book. . . 👫 The characters are amazing. You can sign me up if one of the main characters is a reader. Macy and Elliot, both of my babies are readers. And it's a friends to lovers story. So everything is set for me. It's not just the romance but the connection between them through thick and thin made me love them very much. Their bond over books and words are everything. Elliot is my favorite though. He is so intense and he is the one who wants a second chance and doesn't want this chance to get away because he wants to know what happened 11 years back. And he wears specs. Macy's mom and dad are very like-able. It's so sad her mom died when was so young but the list she's left was super moving. . . 💏 The last few chapters were hard for me and it took time to process everything that happened back then that made them lost connection. The story is simple, emotional, beautiful and comforting. I owe it that much." ♥️ . . ❣️ #84charingcrossroad story starts with Helene Hanff from New York writing Marks & Co, a second hand & rare books shop in London asking about some books. This epistolary novel covers 20 years of correlation between Helene and the shop especially with Frank Doel, an employee of Marks & Co. We readers can easily associate with Helene's love for books and the feelings she shared. I simply adored how the relationship not only with Frank but also with his family and the employees bloomed overtime. Helene sends them food parcels during the food rationing period in Britain and they share gifts. My heart broke in the last 2 pages of this book but I can't share about it as it's a spoiler. . . ❣️The sequel, #theduchessofbloomsburystreet , is written in diary format covering the book tour for 84 Charing cross road. The atmosphere in this one was wonderful because we got to travel around London along with Helene and it was like meeting our favorite characters when she met the people she was writing letters for 20 years. . . Virago edition has both volumes in a single book. My favorite has to be the first book as it created magic and warmth and that too in just 92 pages. This epistolary novel was a charming and refreshing read for me. This is definitely timeless and one gem of a book to be experienced with and I urge you all to read and feel it. . . Book review: Twenties girl by @sophiekinsellawriter . . Warning: Belly aching laughs!! 😋 . . Lara Lington never in her dream, thought that she'd meet her Great aunt Sadie's ghost at her aunt's funeral. Sadie wants Lara to find her missing Dragonfly necklace so that she can rest in peace. And the hilarious adventure starts! 🥁 . . There are two lead heroines in this one. Lara, Sophie's trademark heroine is just cute and likeable and the story is narrated by her. But the one who stole the spot light is none other than the 105 year old great aunt. The story went uphill after Sadie showed up and what a fun ride it was. 💃 . . Sadie in her 20s showing up throughout the story is so much fun. And what can I say about Sadie? She made me feel irritated, supported, happy and also made me shed tears. She's the best guardian angel ever!! And I loved how the story roared 20s. Sadie makes Lara do things which you can never think a sane person would do but oh the tears are real. 🕴️ Special mention to the leading hero, Ed. He is sweet and did his part good. I love how Sophie Kinsella doesn't keep romance as the main focus and it's more about the lead and revolves around the family and friendship. . . It's a lengthy book for a simple necklace mystery but trust me it's super funny. Every now and then, I come across a cute fiction which leaves me happy and ths time it is "Lost and found" by @happilyrubina ❣️ . . The story starts with Shefali being drunk and blurts out bad things not only about her best friend Ritu but also about her colleagues and her boss. That's it, her life takes a bad turn and she's become a troll all around. But there's a secret admirer/stalker in place to make her smile when she's low. ❣️ . . The writing is simple and the characters are adorable. The story itself brimming over with positivism. Shefali's story teaches us how one should face life even when there is no undo button but still we can do our best, face the problems, accept our faults and move on. . . 💫"GET UP, DRESS UP and NEVER GIVE UP."💫 . . How can I not talk about the amazing hero a.k.a stalker. At some point I kinda want one person to be the stalker and was super happy when it was him. And I didn't expect that back story. Ponnan, a boat man/operator and his wife Valli are so patriotic and they are like super support pillars of Chozha. My favorite character has to be the King of Pallavas, Narasimha Varman. He will leave you impressed in every part of the story. He encourages his son to travel, like wow. He discusses political things with his daughter Kundavi and treats her equally. He is morally fair and treats everyone right. He is such a true King. ☀️ . . The story has its own twists and turns and mysteries, politics, everything. The rich words used will pull you directly inside the story and make you stay there besides the Chozha's beautiful Kauveri river and also mesmerizes you with the Pallava's magnificent sculptures. ❤️❤️❤️ The narration and the way the story traveled is breathtaking. Highly recommend to people who love history and want to know about Tamil people and culture. . . . Gaiman's writing is amazinggg. This is such a short story and written in a simple way but he made it creepy and dark. 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 Coraline, the main protagonist is super bored in her new house. She likes exploring. So one fine rainy day, she explores her house and finds a door. She goes inside there and finds an exact replica house like her own. There is also this other-mother and other-dad in that other-house. They look exactly like her own but they have button eyes. Cute? Creepy? This other-mother(what's her back story???🤔) wants Coraline all by herself. Coraline finds herself in a situation where she has to find a way back and also she's to save her parents and 3 other children who are tapped there by this other-mother. ✨ Coraline is quirky and brave. She loves exploring. She is pure but also tough. She is like a role model to children. The courage she shows in such a young age is outstanding. ✨ Special mention to that cat who is friendly & creepy in its own way. ✨ How can I not talk about the art works in this latest edition!! They are beautiful and perfect. ✨ This book teaches children how to be brave even when you are afraid and how to fight against fear. Qotd: Is it possible to love all the books by an author? Aotd: Yes... I'm loving #taylorjenkinsreid 's books.. 4 books and counting.. ❤️ . . #onetrueloves By @tjenkinsreid . . . This was the 3rd book of TJR I read and my love for her writing is amplified. Her stories make you feel so many emotions and once you finish her book, it'll make you think back and assess everything. ❤️ This story is about Emma who loses her husband, Jesse in a traggic accident and after years of grieving, she finally moves on and falls in love with Sam. But Jesse is back alive and wants to start from where he has left. So Emma has a husband(ex?!) and a fiance now. Can someone love two person at the same time? 💕 Love triangle is an old trope but this one isn't the traditional type. It's an unexpected factor that makes it very difficult for Emma to realise whom she really wants. You can't be the same person you were once. ✨ “It was real. And now it’s over. And that’s OK. ” ✨ The characters are perfectly crafted. Both Jesse and Sam are cinnamon rolls. Both are good men. It's really hard for Emma (and us readers) to realise whom she actually loves at present. Emma's character is very well done. You'll fall in love with Jesse like her. You'll grieve with her for Jesse's loss. You'll always love Jesse. You'll fall in love with Sam. You'll be confused like her. And you'll decide with her. One more added to my favorite heroines' list. 💕 I'm not gonna say who she chooses in the end. If you ask me if it's a HEA for Emma. Yes. It is. But you have to experience everything along with her to know what that is and I'm not gonna spoil that. 💕 This story is totally beautiful and emotional. When comes to love there is no right or wrong. And being true to yourself is all that matters. It is but it deals with love, loss, grief, embracing the pain than just romance. ✨ The story goes back and forth between the past where she's so happy with Ben and in the present where she's grieving together with Susan and healing. It'll be like a detailed running commentary of Elsie's life with many touching moments. Both Elsie and Susan are strong characters. Have tissues ready towards the climax.
