After the great dinner the students prepared for us all on Monday, Tuesday evening brought equal deliciousness. The students came over to the chaperone Airbnb for street tacos, pool time and a piñata to celebrate the birthdays of Ethan and Phoebe. On Wednesday afternoon we loaded into buses to meet students from a local high school. The ice was broken early and the students from both schools really enjoyed interacting with each other. It was a fun afternoon of silly games, art, language immersion, and making new friends. Gran Museo del Mundo Maya was the destination Thursday shortly after class. With no time to return home, students came ready with sandwiches prepared by their wonderful homestay mothers. Everyone appeared to be a little sluggish during the afternoon, but it was a beautiful museum with interesting exhibits on Mayan culture and beliefs. We're all excited to spend our last few days together in the Yucatán!
