💛Yellow Ribbon Week💛 These kiddos have worked hard all week learning what it takes to be a good person and avoid being bullied. They ended this week by making a pledge to never be a bully. SO proud of them. 🏅Students of the Month🏅for the month of January goes to Mikael and Averie. To say these two have grown and since starting with me last year is an understatement. Mikael truly has become the big brother of the classroom. A true caretaker of all his younger peers and a blessing for a role model for them. He works hard every day and tries his best. He never gives up even when tasks get difficult and he wishes he could. He’s growing every day and truly becoming a kind, hard working individual. I’m so proud of all his academic and social progress. Averie, my sweet blue eyed gal. She came to me needing so much support and to be able to take that support away and for her to continue to succeed, grow and work hard blows my mind. She takes direction well, tries her best and has really learned to be part of the classroom team. A little weekend 🎉 Shout Out of the Day 🎉 goes to my team! These amazing women who stand by my side and support me each and every day so that I can provide my students with endless learning opportunities during their academic day are not only an amazing team of women to work with but they are family. The fact that we can sometimes work in a stressful environment (me stressing because there just isn’t enough time in the day for me to do everything I want with the kiddos) and still hang out outside of work and enjoy some adult time and fun together means the world to me. They have helped make my classroom structure and the individualized curriculum I’ve written for the kiddos come to life because of their hard work and willingness to give it their all each and every day. We come into work motivated and happy and as a teacher in the classroom I couldn’t ask for anything more for the team. I love them all and am grateful to have them by my side every day. As a teacher I can plan and plan, but without a solid team willing to back me up and support me I could not do half the things I’ve gotten a chance to work the kiddos. So for that I will forever be grateful to these amazing women who have come into my life. 🎉 Shout Out of the Day 🎉 goes to my little Vanessa. She came to me last year not knowing the English language and has been working hard to really understand the language. I really had to sit and think about what skills she was missing in order to easily access the English language and access the curriculum. After much observation, interaction and assessments I was able to build a curriculum for myself and my team to follow to help her develop the necessary skills to learn academics. She often gets one on one attention because of how individualized her curriculum is to her needs. However, I’ve managed to develop a curriculum that supports scanning, tracking, attention all while being exposed to the academics, which is building her English and Academic language development. With the help of the speech team I have been able to incorporate the use of her communication book into the curriculum to increase her ability to utilize the book to communicate wants and needs along with sign language. Watching her be successful and working hard has been such a pleasure. I’m so proud of her willingness to work hard and learn. And I’m sooo blessed to work with a team of adults who are so supportive of the needs of my students. The ladies I work each day with really listen, watch and practice everything I preach to them and the students.
