What a weird drink. Also only the second pop-top can I’ve had in my life, which probably contributed to my sense of weirdness, but yeah, I should've known; awamori is STRONG, in terms of both flavor and alcohol content. Okinawans go hard. This tastes like coffee, metal, and engine oil. It got me drunk extremely quickly, but in a way that nobody was happy about. Cute can design though!

琉球ハブボール // Ryukyu Habu-Ball (Highball) Okinawa has its own type of sake, awamori (泡盛), which is very strong. If you like it, your friends there might pressure you to try a variety called habu-sake (ハブ酒). A habu is a pit viper native to the Ryukyu Islands, which is sometimes fermented in awamori for its medicinal properties (male virility, of course). 

I’ve also seen habu extract in an energy drink (hilariously named “Habu A Nice Day”), and now you can even buy it at Seijo Ishii in highball form, sweetened with shikwasa, for extra Okinawa flavor.
