Something Unexpected
@awcydarcy
Eliza rather sprawled across the floor of her bedroom. With final exams less than a week away, she was trying to get as much studying in as possible around her extra activity’s.
And trying to avoid letting her father know what she was up to. She wasn’t exactly sure how he’d respond to the whole situation. Which had lead to some interesting sneaking in and out of the house. With some added creative story-telling. She still wasn’t sure if he actually bought those though.
And by the sounds of things, Dad was home. Hearing the footsteps approaching her door, she calls out a distracted “Hey Dad!” over the tops of her books.
Its come to my attention I might need to talk to you.
Ah, Darcy! It’s good to see you again. What’s on your mind?
👌
Near the back of a small, quaint coffee shop, Ashton Iago Sleptner took his repose. He wore a crisp, dark gray suit and rich blue waistcoat, a pair of blue-lensed glasses perched on the end of his sharp, beaked nose. With one hand, he propped up his cheek, and the other rested on the page of an open book, a double espresso sitting at his elbow. To the casual observer, Ashton appeared to reading, but behind his glasses, his eyes scanned the room.
He didn’t care much for people, or social interaction, but they’re useful to his experiments. Fresh corpses, after all, reanimate so much better than those even fifteen minutes cold. He wasn’t particularly feeling this crowd, however. Too full of overweight businessmen and underweight teenagers. Well, at least the atmosphere was acceptable.
His gaze drifted over to the door as a tall, statuesque individual dressed in pinks and pastels walked in. Immediately, he rejected them. Far too thin, worse than the teenagers, really. Aesthetically pleasing, however. Not that that counted for anything.
Why on earth would anyone wanna marry you? I mean you're attractive, but not enough to compensate.
Compensate for what, I might ask? *arches an eyebrow*
Either way, I haven’t the faintest idea. I have neither the time nor the inclination for romantic pursuits. They require far too much time and effort, for what? An orgasm? Social status? A lifetime of regret and sacrifice? No thank you.
What I would really like is a good lab assistant. Someone who can keep up with me intellectually and facilitate greater strides in the pursuit of science!

Oh, that’s rich comin’ from you, ya pink-haired, Bob-Marley-with-a-sidecut lookin’ dick.
