A loooong while ago I was tagged by my good friend @dandelionder, so here’s the rules!

Rules: list 3 hobbies, 6 favorite groups, 9 favorite desserts and tag 12 people

3 hobbies: writing, drawing, daydreaming about a life where i can conveniently change my love interest with no repercussions and wish it to be real

The village was quiet today.

lol what a boring and vague sneak peek. XD I tag @oh-beyond, @looking-for-my-seoulmate, @laineylovegirl, @thesammtimes, and @dodyo!

Also since I’ve been on hiatus I started my own personal story (sort of, it’s a fanfic for a different topic). Here’s a sneak peek to that, but I won’t be sharing it on this blog. :p

"Todd," The little boy looked down at his sickly mother, tightly gripping her hand against his small cheek. Her gray hair was thin and stringy, matting to her face with sweat and making her look skinnier than what was healthy. It was the middle of the night, and normally she'd be the one comforting him, reading him books to distract him from the monsters lurking outside, but tonight, Todd is looking after his mother. "You have the same eyes as he does, did you know?" She whispers, her dry lips catching together as she spoke.

The boy used his free hand to lift a cup of water to her mouth, giving her time to sip it as his mind reeled in thought. "He? Do you mean Dad?" Todd's father had died before he was old enough to remember anything. He's heard stories from Jerald's dad, who said that he died on his trip back to the village from Oar's Rest. The sun had left him too fast and the night monsters got to him. When Todd asked him how they knew that had happened, Jerald's father explained that they found his body the next morning, just over the hills past the West river. He didn't go into detail of how the body looked, but Todd could imagine the arrows sticking out of his back, the deep bleeding scars and the bite marks. He's seen the dead walking before, which is why he's unable to sleep at night without his mother's bedtime stories.

"Yes..." She breathed after quenchinig her thirst, sighing deeply and shutting her eyes. She smiled faintly, picturing the man she fell so in love with. "His eyes were green just like yours." She tells her son. "He was a smart man. Too smart to be outwitted by any creature of the night." She states adamantly, before coughing and making Todd's heart race even faster. Even as a child, he knew she didn't have much time left. She's been sick far too long and she wasn't getting any better. "Todd, you have to promise me something." The boy leans closer, tears welling up in his eyes as her voice grew softer. She was leaving him.

"What is it, Mom?" He asked her.

Her eyelids opened, her gaze travelling to his face as she wiped her thumb across his damp cheek. "When you fall in love, do not wait for it to blossom." She says sincerely. "I spent so much of my life waiting for Zachary, I almost regret it." An airy laugh left her throat, but Todd continued to listen in anticipation. "I waited for him to court me, until finally I had to make a move. Even after we got married, I had to ask for you. He was such a timid man, he wouldn't ever make a move on me." Todd never imagined his dad as timid, but he was never sure what to imagine of him in the first place. "I've even been waiting for him to return to the village," She confesses weakly, her hand dropping from her son's face.

"Mom!" He shouted, but she shushed him, reminding him of the dangers outside.

"Todd, never wait for things to happen." She whispers, but he wasn't listening anymore.

"Mom, open your eyes!" He cried, grabbing her white robes and shaking her with all his might. "Don't leave me! I don't want to be alone!"

She took one last short breath, the life leaving her for good. "Don't wait to do great things, my Todd."

"Nooo!" He sobbed, burying his face in the bed sheets to muffle his wails. Even as her body lay motionless and the moisture left his eyes, Todd held his mother's hand until the sun began to rise over the horizon.
