Extensions

Okay so this isn't a tutorial but its the extensions I use on tumblr.

XKIT7: It's a must have. It makes literally everything easier and the guy who makes it updates it often plus he is super nice. I don't think I could live without xkit.

Friend or Follow: This is a mutual checker which can check: who is following you but you are not following back and who you are following but they are not following you back. Its a good way to keep on track with your mutual follows. 

Awesome Screenshot: This is just a screenshotting extension that captures the screen for follower count or screenshot promos.

Tumblr Inactivity Checker: This you can alter to search how many days or weeks or months or years the blogs you follow have been unactive for. Its useful because who wants to follow a blog that hasn't updated in like a year?

Adblock: This is used on every site but I really love it because it saves the time you waste on watching pointless ads ... especially on youtube.

tumblr is starting to make me paranoid because out of like 5 posts i reblog, only 2 show up on my dash. I mean, they're there if i check my own tumblr but it's still disconcerting

and audio posts now make it look like every song is titled "LISTEN"

and apparently i can't use the Awesome Screenshot extension on the site anymore without it looking like an old vhs with the tracking WAY off

so i think i've found 2 new obsessions

1: Awesome Screenshot. www.awesomescreenshot.com  It's basically a browser add-on that lets you take screenshots of any page, part of the page, or what's visible in the page. Once you take the screenshot you can edit it by blurring the text, adding arrows, etc, etc. It's available for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

2: Joliprint. www.joliprint.com This is a really easy way to print out articles and such without wasting tons of paper. You simply install the browser add-on, and then each time you want to print out an article simply click the add-on. Joliprint will then make a pdf of the file which can be viewed through Acrobat Reader, Google Docs, and the like. ETA: Joliprint is also available for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. 

Both of these are super handy, and they're my new favorite browser add-ons. Check them out! And thanks to School Library Journal for telling me about these (in the New Tech column)
