Polin as K-pop Demon Hunters fans.

Modern Polin AU where Colin Bridgerton is a Huntr/x fan and Penelope Featherington is a Saja Boys fan.

This is for @enterthepolinverse 2025 Week 2: Modern Era/AUs.

This is inspired by the following:

- my OBSESSION with K-pop Demon Hunters, including listening to the soundtrack on repeat.

- a mutual's open questions about Polin on what we think Polin's favourite things are in the modern era.

- Luke Newton going to some concert with Antonia based from their IG stories (I think it's Noah Kahan according to fans).

All of these combined, I thought "why not do a Polin x K-pop Demon Hunters crossover?" So I did! :)))

The biggest challenge for me is drawing humans. It took me at least two (2) hours to draw one human. My Kanthony and Zutara drawing for Kanthony Week is my first one to draw humans and it took me at least thirteen (13) hours to complete. Oh and here's the drawing for reference:

However, I can say that I'm proud of what I drew. It's not perfect (I'm still a novice artist), but I'm happy how it turned out.

For inspirations, I asked my Bridgerton Threads community to provide me their favourite looks on Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton and they did not disappoint! I've got some good food! I used some of their pics to draw them here. I'll also use them to draw Pokemon and the humans I nicknamed after but that's for another story to tell...

Anyway, my inspirations for Luke Newton are here, alongside using Katara's eyes (she's from Avatar the Last Airbender) as reference to his eyes, as... Well... Both Luke and Katara have similar eye colour. 🤭 Also, I'm a sucker with Luke wearing glasses (as a glasses wearers myself). 🤓

I've made Colin as a Huntr/x fan because my headcanon believes Colin likes them, not that they're pretty but because their songs resonates with him. For the outfits, I reference it from Luke's photoshoot outfit, the T-shirt from the Netflix Shop and light stick from the designs the fans use.

I've made Penelope as a Saja Boys fan because my headcanon believes that Pen likes their catchy songs, finds them attractive and may have taken her soul. 😏 I know that Colin will get jealous of these men for taking Pen's attention away from him. :)) The outfits are also from the Netflix Shop and from fans' design for the light stick.

I also made Pen cuddle Derpy Tiger as a plush, with modifications. The plush from the Netflix Shop is not appealing, so I modify it as a huggable plushie. And let's not forget Sussie Magpie on top of its head as there are no official plushies for the bird. Derpy Tiger and Sussie Magpie are a duo and should not be separated! 😤

I drew Colin and Pen with the correct height difference. I hope it fits the quintessential Polin Height Difference™. I use these as references.

The background colour is inspired by the album cover on Spotify/YouTube Music, so I implemented it there. And yes, I did listen to the KDH soundtrack on repeat while drawing; I started to hallucinate that Nic and Luke are singing those songs. 🤭

I believe Polin will sing all the K-pop Demon Hunters songs, with Free as their favourite song to sing as a duo because it's related to their relationship!

(Fun fact: Nicola Coughlan is currently in an animation film [Goat] produced by Sony Pictures Animation, well-known for producing Spiderverse movies and... K-pop Demon Hunters!!! I'll be ecstatic if she sings the soundtrack! 😆)

Bridgerton in a Pokemon World: Polin (Part 2).

This is for Season 3 Part 2 Polinversary (and a promise to the Polin twt fandom). Happy S3 P2 Polinversary! :)))

My Polin x Pokemon artworks here are not supposed to exist; they are unplanned. Here's how it started: there was a competition on best Colin outfit from the Polinversary admins on Twitter. I so badly wanted the hand cut outfit to win because it fits the conture of Colin's body and he looks so goddamn adorable, like an awkward duckling. And so, I impulsively persuaded the Polin community that if the hand cut outfit wins, I'll draw Polin based on the hand cut scene, but as Pokemon. It did win. 😅

I was esctatic about it. But I recounted that I'll draw them if the outfit wins, so I've made my promise. I even did two Polin x Pokemon artworks, Lessons and Hand Cut scenes, which is a great achievement. :)))

In the first drawing, I made Colin pose like a baby girl, with blushes when he's happy to see Pen and making her feel comfortable around him. In the second drawing, Colin looks teary eyed, like he is grateful for the help; he seems to feel awkward now when he's near Pen since she has read his private journal. He is showing his vulnerability towards her. In both drawings, I made Colin's yellow rings glow (a new skill I learnt), as if he is slowly falling in love with Pen without realising it, like the moon reflecting the sunlight (which resonates to his love declaration for Pen: "my feelings for Penelope are not a thunderbolt from the sky").

I still cannot put Jigglypuff in a dress; it's impossible. 😭 So I drew a shawl and hair accessories on her instead. I also include my favourite quotes from Polin on the first artwork, because they are my favourite Awkward Ducklings. :))) 🐥🐤

I'm not very good at drawing backgrounds and still life. 😅 But I am trying my best. :)))

Hidden Easter egg: in the first drawing, I put some trophies on the mantel shelf showcasing the Pokemon types for the Bridgerton Eeveelutions (or Bridgerteons 😉). Each trophy indicates an Eeveelution based on their type, with the numbers shown below; these are the orders of the season for each Bridgerton sibling as the main focus, with seasons 5-8 as my speculations.

Polin Ducklings 🐥🐥

This is for @enterthepolinverse 2025 Week 3: Anything but Humans/Fantasy/Sci-Fi.

Loosely inspired by Crash Landing On You, a K-Drama.

Well... I was stressed about drawing my Polin x K-pop Demon Hunters crossover which I challenged myself to draw humans, so I just doodled this to relieve some stress.

However on Tumblr, everything Polin (and Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton) did are so adorable and awkward, like awkward ducklings. So I usually tagged them as "awkward turtleducks" and "awkward ducklings". Out of the Bridgerton couples I've seen so far, Polin are the most awkward ducklings. 🤭

The ducklings term is inspired by Crash Landing On You, a K-Drama TV show about two rich people, North Korean Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok and South Korean Heiress Yoon Se Ri, help each other get home over the borders, all while falling in love. Captain Ri's loyal soldiers are known to viewers as "the ducklings" because they like to follow the captain around but are capable of surviving themselves. They are awkward and funny, pretty similar to Polin.

Colin Week Day 8: Polin/Lukola Besties For Life!

For the last entry for Colin Week, I'm gonna answer all the questions. :)))

Favourite Polin moments:

All of it. Whenever they are together, they are shown to be their true selves, Colin as "kind, feeling, occasionally excitable" man Pen loves and Penelope as witty, clever, brave, always there for support, observant and loveable woman Colin loves. They represent the moon, as they seek each other and be their true selves at night. Hence why I drew them as Pokemon, Umbreon for Colin and Jigglypuff for Pen shown below.

But the scene where they are laughing together over a dead horse is adorable. These awkward turtleducks and ducklings.

Hopes and dreams for Polin together:

They should be in the same room together, probably their bedroom, writing and brainstorming ideas. I wanna see the quiet and lovely moments between them as husband and wife, either with their child or not. I also wanna see them... Being all lovey dovey idiots. :)))

Also, Colin and Pen being spies to help Benedict identify Sophie. They can be the love therapists to persuade Benedict to choose his heart over society, that is choosing to be with Sophie regardless of class status over expectations as nobles. Like what Daphne did to Anthony when choosing Kate over Edwina (S2), and Kanthony did to Colin when choosing to love and marry Pen regardless of conflict over being a prideful dumbass (S3).

Finally....

Favourite Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton moments:

All of it! They are themselves when they are in interviews together, supporting and hyping each other. They are very comfortable with each other, with 5 years of being besties. I wish I have that kind of friendship. My favourite awkward turtleducks and awkward ducklings.

(They also embody the ducklings from my beloved K-Drama, Crash Landing On You, because they follow around being idiots together and will defend for their family, friends and their partners. Ducklings from CLOY and turtleducks from Avatar: the Last Airbender pictured below.)

My favourite Awkward Turtleducks and Awkward Ducklings.

If someone who is browsing on my profile are confused as to why I tag some reblogs as "awkward turtleducks" and "awkward ducklings". Well here's my reasoning:

This is a turtleduck from Avatar The Last Airbender. It's a hybrid of a duck and a turtle, and they are adorable.

And the ducklings are these adorable idiot North Korean Soldiers from Crash Landing On You.

The OG are definitely Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok's (Hyun Bin) soldier ducklings who like to follow him and also protect the captain's lover (Son Ye Jin) (shown below). 😏

My current favourite awkward turtleducks and ducklings are Polin and Lukola (I don't ship the actors as lovers, but I love their friendship and the connection they have) because they embody the hapless and adorable ducklings like the soldiers in Crash Landing On You. They give me nostalgia that reminds me of my beloved K-Drama. (Sadly I moved on from watching K-Dramas, but I do enjoy them casually.)

As for Bridgerton, I ship both Kanthony and Polin. But Kanthony are not part of the awkward turtleducks and ducklings club because they are angsty, protective, sacrificial idiot leaders. So they are definitely not ducklings, more like parents, like Zutara and Captain Ri.
