Do people actually repeatedly spill their guts to complete strangers in real life?

Well, they do in this book. I mean, i guess there’s some pressure to reveal oneself when one knows that they aren’t going to be alive much longer, no matter who is listening.

Is it weird that it seems a little forced to me, all the details that come out in conversation, all the flash backs? It really shouldn’t be weird. They’re dying and they’re young, and they’ve got all this passion to be alive and stay that way, but I just picture myself turning into a fetus and sucking my thumb in stunned silence on my front porch.

Because at times it just those reminisces or those weird moment. Or something which reminds us about them and those feelings. But the reality is that those feelings have faded now and everyone most probably has moved on. Or at least you have because do you have any idea about what will you say if they come in front of you?
