I haven’t posted in a while. The pandemic’s obviously been hard on everyone, and I’m just proud I finally managed to finish this drawing I’d been planning for months.
There was a small window at the beginning of March where retail was reopen in Berlin, and I managed to get a frame and a passe-partout made for this piece. I wanted to layer translucent paper to create this view of the Alps as seen from Axams in Innsbruck from a trip we took in the Beforetimes. Even though I had everything prepped, I was having a tough time to motivate myself to actually start working on it, so the frame hung empty on my wall for two months, silently mocking me.
My job had a company-wide day off last week, and I finally managed to turn it out. So now I can roam my apartment freely without a wall judging me. I need to go outside more.
The final piece is four layers.
