Book of the Week 12/17/2014: Avengers & X-Men: Axis #8
Book of the Week 12/17/2014: Avengers & X-Men: Axis #8
I suppose it’s that time again: A week of solid releases, but no book really raising a topic worth unpacking or doing anything to challenge the way the comic book medium is seen or digested.
That means its time to look at whatever cross-over event book Marvel is doing, and, again, explain why it is creating interesting ideas and scenarios that it immediately culls through drunken marketing…

nah son i don't have time to acknowledge ur "magneto isnt wanda and pietros father", "i'm a giant asshole who just retconned the story of two incredible jewish characters", "luna, billy and tommy are probably dead now oh well" bullshit canon
The twins didn't take the news well.
just had a, um, minor freak out over the possibility that axis #7 killed tommy and billy…i really hope this newsrama article isn’t bullshit no one touches those precious babies
Axis 7 is a prime example of why spoilers are important. I didn't tag anything spoilers. People need to know NOT to buy that issue, they need to know just what Marvel/Disney is doing. They need to be aware that a line is drawn and they have to decide if they are gonna cross it and still support that fucking company.
I do not support Marvel/Disney and this is no longer a Marvel blog.
If they go through with their events in Axis 7, then I am done with them.
They have a chance to say “Wanda only said that to hurt Erik, it’s not actually true”
If they don’t seize on that given all the negative feedback, and they carry on with this bullshit, then I am saying goodbye to comics.
Which means I have…a few books (LotR and Harry Potter?) I can read over and over, but otherwise no fandom.
I’m honestly unsure what to do with my life at this point. Without comics, I’m not sure what other people do.
Today's Axis 7: in case you're not understanding these pages, Wanda cursed her family and only Pietro was affected meaning Magneto is not the twins' father.
I'm actually really annoyed about this development, but don't have time to bitch about this as I have ti run to an appointment.
