Bundeslihaha: Battle of the Gay Posse(TM)

also known as Achse der Bösen (Axis of Evil: Waldhof Mannheim, Eintracht Braunschweig, 1. FC Magdeburg) vs. Nordallianz (Northern Alliance: Arminia Bielefeld, Hannover 96, Hamburger SV)

The Evil designs (and Hannover) are still subject to change, but I'm pretty happy with what I have so far! It was just rough doodling, but it was so much fun ✨

This drawing is an exercise in my 2nd design principle for Bundeslihaha, which is: Rivals are complements and/or opposites.

So... I designed the Nordallianz and Axis of Evil hand in hand.

Nordallianz = all men, 2 short-haired, 1 long-haired (it used to be the opposite before Hamburg was forced to get a haircut)

Achse der Bösen = all women, 2 short-haired, 1-long haired

Waldhof is the most masculine of the Evil Gals; Arminia is the most feminine of the Alliance. They're also the shortest.

Braunschweig has the yellow hair with blue sides (braids); Hannover has the black hair with green sides (undercut). They're both medium height, tan-skinned, and have sideburns.

Magdeburg is built like an urn; Hamburg is built like a coffin. Magdeburg's stadium has a memorial shrine; HSV has a fan cemetery. They both have the most elaborate dress sense and are the tallest of their trio.

Waldhof and Arminia = in between

Magdeburg's hair is supposed to be shaped like an M. She has curly hair, even tighter curls than Bielefeld.

Braunschweig's hair is wavy. Hamburg, Hannover, and Mannheim's hair is straight.

TBH, I might change Mannheim's design a lot more, I envision her as having an emo haircut, but I'm not sure what else to do with her... I know the fan base is quite violent, being Frankfurt and Lautern's rival. So maybe I could make her look a bit rougher, with scars or something like that.

Or, complementing Hamburg's naturally graying hair, she can dye her hair silver. She and Hamburg has the same nose shape already, though I think I can misalign Waldhof's more, maybe her nose is often broken from brawling.

Speaking of emo, the most likely to be emo dress-wise is Hannover. Because, being trans, I think he looks youthful to make up for missing the correct puberty/teenage years the first time around. Also he has a right to be emo(tional)! Because Martin Kind gives him a fucking headache.

And their fashion styles... that's so difficult to think about. I have a feel for Hamburg's, but not anyone else's. I just need to look at references and practice, really!

Sketches of Hannover and Braunschweig because I don't really feel like their designs are right just yet.

I wanted Hannover to have round features and Braunschweig to have sharp features, because of the shapes of their crests. Wolfsburg's features are in-between, his face is round but his nose is sharp.

I don't like giving Hannover a mustache lol. So I removed it. I gave him a beard because there's a lack of facial hair in my old designs (it was animesque, after all), I wanted to change it so I can have fun drawing them. Variation is the spice of life, after all!

Braunschweig's hair is a combination of Hannover's and Wolfsburg's: blond, long, and wavy (like Wolfsburg) with blue sides (like Hannover's green sides).

Braunschweig doesn't have bangs because I like the old design of guy Braunschweig having slicked-back hair. And yes, you may think the mullet is similar to pre-reveal Hamburg, this is to shout out that the old design of BTSV and HSV used to have similar hair (but Hamburg had bangs).

Hannover has sideburns and a bit of a beard, that's basically like Wolfsburg, just truncated; Braunschweig just has the sideburns.

This is because they're derby rivals (caveat: Wolfsburg isn't seen as a real derby rival by the other 2 Lower Saxony clubs).
