5. My favorite starter is Popplio! (this is tough though, because I like Cyndaquil and Turtwig almost as much)

10. My most recent team was Primarina, Alolan Raichu, Lurantis, Alolan Sandslash, Mimikyu, and Bewear! they’re great and i love them

15. My favorite gym leader… maybe Roxie?? I love her style and her gym, and making her an underground rocker Poision type gym leader is really fun

20. I think my favorite Pokemon game is tied between BW2 and SuMo, since BW2 has a really enjoyable and fleshed out region to explore with lots of hidden secrets, and SuMo is great story and world-building wise, the region doesn’t feel QUITE as open for exploration, but it had way more impact story-wise and feels much more like a real place than any of the other Pokemon regions, IMO

(but HGSS had my favorite gimmicks, I loved the Pokeathlon and the Poke Walker and pokemon following behind you)

25. (a distinct Pokemon memory) Back when I was in 3rd grade, my class had a board game day where whoever wanted could bring their board games from home to play with the rest of the kids in the class. A kid I knew named Joshua had brought his Pokemon board game and had arrived at school at the same time as I did, and on his way through the door, the box slipped out of his hands and all of the little pieces of the board game fell into this 3 ft deep grate that was in front of the door to the school. he just stood there staring silently down at the pieces of his board game and i felt very very bad for him

30. My favorite evolution (as in, my favorite progression of a concept in a Pokemon evolutionary line) is either Scrafty, because I love how its wearing the shed skin from when it was Scraggy as a hoodie, or Porygon Z, because I love the way it’s corrupted from Porygon 2 and that its head’s completely upside down

honestly tiny me thought roark was really cute. but yeah overall human characters are just eh.

roark was kinda interesting to me as a kid because his dad was also a gym leader, but nah, like i honestly get it a lot more when kids really like the characters, or when people are pretty upfront about just being really into the design

i guess i just had never thought about the subway guys in particular like, at all, and so when i stumbled upon the fanbase and saw SO much fanart of characters that i actually had to double check were from Pokemon at all, it was just really weird. 

none of them were pictured with Pokemon, or even on subways?? like i get that it’s matching anime guys in black and white coats, people are into that, but i would have assumed that there’s a billion characters who basically are just like that who are actually from anime and have like, a personality

the subway guys are part of a completely optional part of the gen 5 games that is actually kind of difficult and has no real rewards, so i can’t imagine that most children or casual players ever even encountered them, as opposed to gym leaders and champions and characters that you actually see in the story of the game
