The creature

Since this post is very popular now, I will edit to add a little more information! This bug is Calyptocephala attenuata, a species of tortoise beetle. It lives in Central and South America.

Personally, all my family photos from like 2003-2014 are locked on some inaccessible hard drive that's probably been lost or thrown away, so if anyone had my family photos from 2006, I'd like to at least see them before they're deleted. This squirrel attempted to jump a full six feet (yes, I measured) from a nearby bush to the bird feeder. Its first two misses were spectacular, so much so that when it made it on the third try, I let it hang out and eat as many peanuts as it wanted.

(I'm sorry I didn't manage to get the leaps to sync up, but I've already spent quite a lot of time turning the video into gifs that'll upload here, so.)

Thinking on Kingdom Hearts IV, and what we're likely to get given all the surprisingly context we now have. Spoilers for that leaked Missing Link movie.

I think we're getting keyblade hunters. Quadratum seemingly does not natively have keyblades, heartless, metaphorical light and dark. As we know, the keyblade is the only way to permanently put down a heartless. How does a "realistic" world deal with that, being invaded by a force they have no means to combat?

They steal the weapons they need.

I think in Missing Link, what would've been revealed is that the Astral Plane you dive into wouldn't be "our" world, it would've been revealed to be Quadratum. It would've been not as empty as we were initially led to believe. I think those kinds of breaches caused by the keyblade societies in Missing Link would've caused the first heartless incursions into Quadratum. That's when they started taking keyblades, a long time ago, given the old-timey keyblades we saw those darkness divers wielding. Same thing with their helmets. Clearly looking like they're keyblade armor shaped. Possibly scavenged/stolen/repurposed into tech they could work with from fallen keyblade wielders. I think those guys aren't from old-timey Scala, but are in fact Quadratum natives diving into invading darkness caused by breaches from the KH universe.

And then there's the Yozora of it all. When you fight him, he can steal your keyblade for a bit. He's got that skull and crossed keys patch. Possibly a defector from a keyblade hunter organization?

If he beats you, he puts you on ice and promises to "save" Sora. Maybe he's trying to put Sora in stasis and hide him so Sora doesn't get found by someone worse. And if you beat HIM, he says his power isn't needed yet. Possibly because you've proven that Sora can defend himself in Quadratum.

Much to think about. We'll see.
