I remember being alive for the war, but have hazy memories about it, and the bickering over what it was about doesn’t help. But you seem close to Luci, could you tell me what his beliefs were (why he rebelled)? - Azarius the Angel
In my timeline, at least, Lucifer was motivated partially by jealousy. He didn’t understand why Father created humans when he had his angels already. He didn’t understand why we had to love these creatures of blood and bone, who vanished in a moment and were doomed to destroy themselves from the beginning, as if they were equal to us.
He brought his concerns to Father, but he was dismissed. He was instructed to do as he had been told and love humans as he loved his fellow angels.
But Lucifer would not.
We were so much more than humans. We were eternal and divine, and to the Morning Star, it was like saying that we were not enough for Father to create these temporary, fragile beings and ask us to love them as equals.
To my dearest brother, we deserved more. We deserved to be loved above humans, to be recognized as better and more perfect than humans. So he began to spread his message throughout the choirs. Those of us who had already begun to question Father’s choices were quick to join him. Others took persuasion. Many still stood with Father, among them the Seven Archangels, with Michael at their head.
As far as I know, Lucifer did not want a war. He tried to persuade Michael and the others to join us, but they would not listen. They would not question Father. We only fought when we had no other choice.
The Morning Star truly, genuinely wanted what was best for all of us, but sadly, he went about it the wrong way, and many of us paid the price for following him.
