I'm still alive. I know that I haven't been active lately, and there are many reasons for that.

November was not very kind to me, and I continue to fix everything that it left behind. There are things that I can't influence in any way, they just need time to heal. About the rest… I'm doing everything I can to fix it. Slowly, but surely.

I caught a cold last week. I feel better now, but I'm not quite well. And the weather is not helping at all. Did I mention that I hate snow? Probably a million times…

And I don't feel any motivation to continue doing anything related to Ike games. It's a burnout, no doubt. I'm still interested in translating event announcements. It's quite a challenge, and I like seeing the end results. So I still like it. But beyond that……….

But since the end of the year is approaching, and I don't like leaving unfinished projects for next year, I plan to finish as much as possible… It's going to be so much fun! Yeah…

Some time ago I've finished on both endings Rikyu route and the sequels of Silvio and Keith. And I wanted to say a few words about them. Some scenes or jokes. It is easier with Rikyu, at least I have prepared drafts of what I want to talk about. I don't remember the sequels, so I need to check the screenshots first.

And I would like to talk a little bit about Azel and Jude routes from the EN servers. I talked about Azel route a year ago when I read it in Japanese. It's the same with Jude… there is nothing much to add to what I have already said. But… there is still something. But again… I haven't prepared the drafts, so I need to check the screenshots.

Because this is already too much… I'll postpone Kurama's route again (I feel so bad for that). And I won't start Mati's route until I'm done with posts about other JP's routes. It's the same with twins' routes… Otherwise, I'll just break my head. Or I'll feel pressured, or I'll panic… or all of it at the same time...

And I still haven't touched the New Year's story. Yeah…

I could just… put it aside and don't think about it. But the next story already uses jokes from this one, and it's about my birthday, which is also not that far away. So… I kind of have no other choice but to finish the first one.

Azel's route (books)

It wasn't until I started reading the route in English that it finally hit me…

OMG! Two great news in one day. I'm going to cry. Literally.

Azel's route will be released a month earlier. You can't imagine how happy I am about this.

We haven't been given an exact date yet. But they usually announce it a month in advance.

And a theater event… they translated it as an "act."

Yes, there was undoubtedly a "theater" in the original (I listened), but "act" makes much more sense. I love it. I'm loving it. I like this event. I've made a summary of Silvio and Azel's stories. And I love them both. Azel shown from a completely different angle here, and… he's so damn cute!

Lesson of Japanese #2

It's been two years since I started reading JP games. The first lesson is here. And I mentioned the different types of laughter I've seen here. And again… I'm not learning this language, I still stubbornly believe that I'm NOT doing it. But… since at some point my stubbornness (damn it) and my consciousness (damn it twice) did not allow me to show you a very odd automatic translation, I started to… figure out what each word means. And also because in Japanese, as in any other language, there are many words that are repeated quite often… I memorized them. Without even noticing it. The problem for anyone whose language is very different from Japanese is that there are no spaces between the words. They look like a string that seemingly never ends. But there are special words that have the meaning of separators. They indicate which part of the sentence each word belongs to, and in which case it stands. I won't talk about them today. I'm not sure I understand them correctly. And I definitely didn't memorize them. I just understand that I don't need to translate them, and that's it. So… today… I'll show you what words I've memorize this year. It's not that much, but… I didn't even try to remember.

1. Yes, yeah はい

From Tamamo's route

MC in Genjiden answer that way quite often. But usually this word is used as part of a sentence. And because it looks so simple, it's pretty easy to recognize in the text.

2. The King: 王

…The king of kitsune?

It's quite simple to write, and it's easy to spot in the text. Unsurprisingly, this word is quite often appear in stories. I first noticed it in Genjiden (Tamamo Route). And then in Villains as part of the word "queen"…女王… in the direct translation it's a female king… funny.

3. An Eye 目

From Azel's route

Who is this person in from of me? The line "in front of my eyes" is used here, but in English "eye" is omitted, but you will still hear it in meaning.

And one more example. I wanted to find a screenshot with a simple meaning of "an eye", so I turned to Victor's route. It's very often used there. But I found this line and decided that it was even better.

Hearing these words, I looked up and met Roger's somewhat puzzled gaze. I took a liberty. To be honest, I'm not sure I fully understood this sentence.

Actually when I was looking at this word in the screenshots, I noticed that it is used quite often, but with a different meaning… not so obvious. This word is part of many words related to eyes in one way or another. Here… the meaning is close to the one I have given… "a gaze". It's not the same thing, right? But it's still understandable.

4. A Hand 手

Actually I've often seen this word as part of a word "a letter" 手紙 in the meaning "a handwritten letter".

For example, here… this is from a Jealousy event with Ally.

Irina* was confused, so I quickly snatched the letter from her hand. * - I use insteed of Kate イリーナ in the game. Google said, that's how my name is written in Japanese. I could use Kate in the translation of this sentence so as not to confuse you, but this is already in the text... so... be it.

As you can see in this example, the word 手 was used twice. In the meaning of "hand" and as part of the word "letter".

Again… this word is quite easily recognizable in the text.

5. A Person 人

An acquaintance? A friend? A partner? Or something else?

I faked this screenshot… not very convincingly. I foolishly deleted it after compiling my summary and could only find videos with very poor quality… So I faked the screenshot. At least you can see the words on it, I can't say the same about the screenshot I took from the video.

This word is part of several words. As I showed in the example. "An acquaintance", "a friend"… they all contain this word. And I find that very reasonable. I've seen it in some other words, but at the moment I can't remember where exactly. But it was used very often. It's hard not to notice.

And since I still hear Korean words… In Korean, "a person" begins with the same letter 사람 (saram). That's why I keep calling 人 saram.

6. Love 愛

I wanna use the usual Ally's remark as a reference.

"I love you"… in my own way, it is…

Looking at this word, for some reason I thought that it reminded me of Chinese, so I turned to Google.

In an article in my native language, I find that this word means a different type of love in different languages.

In Chinese, this is love for something or someone.

In Japanese, this word has a more specific meaning.  Deep, selfless and unconditional affection. It's more of a giving type of love, when a person cares about other more than themselve.

There is another word 恋, which already means romantic love or passion. And this love is already more… selfish. I love because I want to be loved. That's kind of feeling.

I may be completely wrong, but that's how I see it. If I'm wrong, correct me, I'm open to new information.

This is a very difficult word, I probably won't be able to write it by hand (at least from the first try), but… it is very easily recognizable in the text.

Why I wanted to use Ally as a reference? He understands the difference in the meaning of these words. And he decided to use the "selfless giving love" in this sentence. And… it made me almost cry…

7. か

That's not a word, it doesn't have the meaning… I mean… it's a question mark. It's obviously located at the end of a sentence.

There are texts in which only this word is indicate a question mark. There are others where the author additionally adds the symbol "?". But I think it's not necessary for native speakers, it's more a kind of fashion.

And in the screenshot with the word "king" (I showed it earlier)… the same word か was used as a question mark indicator without a question mark.

That's all. Not quite… while I was looking for screenshots, I found a few more words that I could tell you about. But… they're not often used to say that I memorized them. But after translating the sentence, it became obvious that yes, I had seen this before… But again, I didn't memorize them. It would be unfair of me to show them to you.

It still amazes me how much the brain can learn with constant practice...
