It Isn’t Hard to Imagine a Beautiful Place in Guadalupe Mountains National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A view looking to the east while walking the trails in the Salt Basin Dunes portion of Guadalupe Mountains National Park. My thinking in composing the image was to capture a sweeping view looking across those white sands with the growing vegetation. The Guadalupe Mountains would then seemingly tower above all with some blue skies and clouds to complement the west Texas landscape and national park setting

The Mission While Out in Nature Is To Be And Enjoy (Katmai National Park & Preserve) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: The Mission While Out in Nature Is To Be And Enjoy One just has to savor the creation and beauty all 'round It's an amazing gift to stand and see that wildness Yes, waking up today is a blessing, but this is the icing on a cake It's good to have friends, to share memories and time And remember it's not about the gear or toys gathered. Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one morning in Katmai National Park & Preserve while on a hike up the side of Dumpling Mountain. This view was looking to the east-southeast across Naknek Lake to ridge lines and mountain peaks of the Aleutian Ranges. I angled my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward in order to capture and use the mountainside for a sweeping view across this setting in the national park. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation while playing around as I learned how to work with DxO PhotoLab 3.

It's Always a Good Time for a Walk in the Bisti Badlands by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking around and exploring the Bisti Badlands with a view looking to the southeast to some eroded formations and bluffs present in this part of Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area. What I wanted to capture with this image was to raise the horizon higher into the image and bring more of a sense of grandeur to the bluffs off in the distance as a backdrop. I angled my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to bring out a more of a sweeping view for that effect. I did though want I have a little bit of blue skies and clouds above, as I felt they were a color contrast to complement the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.

With this image, I attempted to center the marker post more or less in the image center, but pull back on the focal length to include some of the nearby trail as well as national park landscape.
