My thought in composing this image had been to zoom in with the focal length to capture only a portion of the pond, while have that extend from all the image to fill more encompassing.

Premium Outdoor Experiences in Biscayne National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking along a shoreline on Boca Chita Key in Biscayne National Park. The setting is looking to the south-southeast across the sands and waters with mangrove trees and blue skies filled with clouds. To capture a sweeping view of the shoreline and elevate the horizon, I adjusted the Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera’s angle slightly downward.

Exploring Mabry Mill along the Blue Ridge Parkway by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: At an historical attraction along the Blue Ridge Parkway with a view looking to the south-southeast to a nearby wooden waterway or flume. This location is known as Mabry Mill. I liked the way the wooden waterway acted as a leading line into the image with trees on both sides to channelize the view.

Quapaw Baths and Bathhouse Row (Hot Springs National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: An image captured while walking the main sidewalk along Bathhouse Row with a view looking to the southeast and across the buildings in Hot Springs National Park. This was an idea I’d seen in postcards and from other photographers. My thinking was to work that angle of composition to capture the different architectural features like archways and other designs with the different bathhouse buildings. With the Quapaw Bathhouse, I focused on the arches to the front with the dome and American flag. I could then work with control points in DxO PhotoLab 3 and make some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.
