a rant about azula and scaramouche's similarities that i noticed after analyzing them (i kin them both and its so 😢) + a kinnie playlist
1) mommy issues - obviously both of them got severe mommy issues. they look like they hate their mom and it's probably because their mom made them feel like a monster or something not acceptable.
2) trust issues - their famous lines regarding betrayal and trust
3) obsession with obtaining power and position - azula wanting to become firelord and scaramouche desperately wanting to get his gnosis. im not sure, but since both of them weren't accepted by their mother, they strived their entire life to obtain those two maybe for the sake of getting the validation they need. but in the end, it didn't work for both of them. when they failed to get that very thing, both of their lives shattered into pieces. 4) both seen as immature for their explosive and hostile behavior - it may seem that what they show is driven by rage and selfishness, but these are fuelled with years of grief and pain. im sure they can't be fixed, although im sure they've been starved so much of love and acceptance which lead them to become who they are. 5) associated with fire/flames - azula's a fire bender from the fire nation, and scaramouche has also experienced an event associated with fire when his friend died. i haven't thought about what that might symbolize yet, but yeah. 6) associated with electricity - azula's lighting and scaramouche's electro delusion. 7) they use/look down on other people - it is not to be justified, but the way they treat people inferior to them like that could be rooted in their trust issues (with the way they avoid establishing healthy connections) and from the way they crave validation (leading them to like treating other people like that) 8) both are an XTNJ
