USE THEM // LOSE THEM
A typography project from college, on the subject of words. If you do not speak up and use your words, now, to defend yourself and those around you, there will come a time when you need to speak, and you cannot, because your words will be taken away.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR UNIVERSITY ✨

Teamwork. 🙌🏽 Featuring BA #circusartsdegree students Sam Letch, Victoria Skillen, Joshua Smith, and David Sanchez Munoz.
My friend asked me if I could design a logo for a desert business he’s starting up and although I was nervous as I’m still getting to grips with illustrator I saw it as a good opportunity to push myself. This is the final outcome.

Modernisation Of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella 2017
During January 2017 my BA(Hons) class began rehearsing for our take on Rogers and Hammerstein's 1965 Cinderella
Over the years there has been many variations of the story that we know as “Cinderella”. From the original folk tale of “Cinderella” also known as in France as “The little Glass slipper” has been told in various ways all over the world. The most popular version is by Charles Perrault 1697, then there was the Brothers Grimm’s gruesome tale in 1857 and even a Disney version in 1950.
Each version of “Cinderella” has had some sort of different various it was Charles Perrault who originally added in the “Glass Slipper” and the Pumpkin turning into a Carriage. The Brothers Grimm took the story in a different direction where the stepsisters mutilated themselves to try and fit the Glass slipper and in the end had their eyes pecked out by crows so that they were blind. Then the Disney version brought it back to the magic of the tail with sings and dances in true Disney fashion.
The story the musical “Cinderella” has be changed and adapted over the many years originally shown in 1957 on television “Cinderella” Music by Richard Rodgers and book by Oscar Hammerstein was adapted for to be performed on the stage in 1997 by Tom Briggs and Tom Helm. And is still performed and adapted to this day. During four weeks in January 2017 My BA(Honors) Class began and created a modern version of Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” by bringing it into the 21st century we used mobile phones, car structures, bus stops on stage and projection to bring bring the story to life in a new light. Continuing to using the musical score and script we created a version of “Cinderella” that could possible relate to more people in the century referring to the royal family as superstars and the wicked step family as over the top but poor Kardashian’s.
The process was very different to any process I have done before. It for some reason did not really end up being in my body (as we like to say on our course) I felt like I had no real connection to the show or my character or the other characters for that matter. We had go over certain bits of the show so many times it became tedious and dull. I was upset about this as I was really looking forward to performing the show at the beginning of the process. Despite my feelings I tried very hard in each performance and each rehearsal.
Ultimately the show was a success but i was also upset as my family all live too far away to come and see me in productions in Amersham and Wycombe college. None the less I tried my hardest and tried to be the BEST Lionel I could be.
