Babaobox

八 [bā] means eight, the luckiest number in Chinese culture and 宝 [bǎo] means treasure. Together, 八宝 [bā bǎo] is an ancient term that symbolises “many or assorted treasures”. The Babaobox philosophy is to share hidden gems and connect people through tangible experiences.

Babaobox is a curated box made in collaboration with tastemakers, cultural leaders and inspiring thinkers. Each limited edition contains bespoke objects and a collectible book that shares the extraordinary stories behind each treasure. With the abundance of social media, the world has never been so interconnected. Yet, we still yearn for quality human interaction and Babaobox brings back the tangible in sharing; filling you with wonder, anticipation and surprise.

Babaobox was founded by Claudia Got and Ying Lawrence in 2014, both with creative backgrounds: Claudia was formerly an art director at Grey New York, and Cheil Shanghai; Ying has a masters in Contemporary Art and worked for Art Basel Hong Kong.

Babaobox wants to celebrate makers in Hong Kong. At first, it was hard finding good vendors. After countless painstaking experiences we finally found some great partners. We want to share these awesome contacts with the world and save anyone from the pain.

Neon light Manufacturer: Sign First Production Limited We have received lots of compliments for our neon light and many people have asked us for this contact. This manufacturer provides great service at a reasonable price and their after-sales service has been amazing. We had a glitch at an event and they sent a technician to our venue within 30 minutes! Thankfully the light was fixed and our brand glowed proudly. Another time we found a crack in one of the glass tubes and they collected the light the next day and fixed everything for us in a week.
