i dont necessarily think that the babygirlfication of fictional characters (mostly adult men characters) is bad as long as you fully understand their character (like. actually treat them like someone who has a certain depth in lore) and dont do it to ignore their trauma / to mischaracterize them completely
but i do have an issue with people who go "aww hes so babygirl" and then proceed to treat the character as a sex object . please stop for the love of god and educate yourself on the character before doing this.
i dont mind perverts who understand the characters lore. i just hate people who ignore every aspect of a character to fit them into their stereotypical (often straight) daddy dom booktok darkromance guy. or make them into a cute kawaii innocent angel who has never done anything wrong. like. are we deadass. (here i dont mean the people who do it for fun / create their own AUs, i mean the people who fully believe in this being canon despite the many contradictions shown in the source material)
this specifically applies to traumatized characters. the amount disregard of a character's ptsd is genuinely baffling. its clear that some of you people see trauma as just another sad thing that happened in someones life. these same people think that it can be fixed with a true loves kiss or maybe just some opening up if theyre feeling especially brave.
and no, the mentally ill character whos suffered for most of their life isnt your babygirl too. these people romantisize the idea of someone being "psycho" and just use it as a sexual term most of the time. no bethany i asure you the character youve once seen crash out for never being taken seriously isnt a psychopath.
people. please educate yourselves.
