me: doing some quick base colors/flats for grandpa
>accidentally make his scarf look like a bacon strip wrapped around his shoulders and can’t unsee it.
ok bye goodnight, this is my cue...
FINALLY complete! That Finished Object Feeling
I made a Bacon Scarf! It measures 18 cms wide, 165 cms long, from end to end, minus fringes. It took me over 36 hours to complete, and that's 36 hours, working without breaks. I did it in 6 hour long lots, so I didn't starve to death. I used Tapestry Crochet, a fairly easy method for creating patterns and designs in crochet objects.
I made it for a participant of the RedditGifts website. This one is for the last secret santa [I'm so late, I know :c], but all year round, the website hosts gift exchanges from all around the globe. I participate in the Secret Santa every year, and several others in between, like the NSA exchange. It's a wonderful way of spreading my crochet across the lands.
Speaking of Reddit, check out r/crochet when you have the chance, for a great directory of all things crochet, and a very supportive user base. I love hanging out there and getting heaps of inspiration.
Would you like to make a DIY Bacon scarf? Here's a link to the Tapestry Crochet chart pattern. Remember, it's Tapestry Crochet, so be sure to check out that above tutorial if you're unsure of the method involved.
Would you like to order a bacon scarf? I ship globally, so be sure to drop on by my Etsy Store to place a custom order, or send me an email to discuss it at syndark [at] gmail [dot] com
Be sure to check out the Facebook page to keep up to date with updates.

That Finished Object Feeling. Last night I put the finishing touches on my WIP Bacon Scarf. In an hour I will be posting a photoset of it. It took me over 36 hours to crochet using tapestry crochet, and I am so glad it's over. Stay tuned! ~W

I got a new wig today. Still need to style it, but I like the general affect it gives.
