A request, my friend! Fluff #8 and angst #12 (Preferable angst then fluff but that’s just a suggestion!! I bet it’ll be great no matter what!)
you get two, bc I didn’t know what to do with neither lmao. SO I did dif aus. Bad boy Keith for fluff and bad boy lance fo angst!
Don’t read it as one! ….Or do, idk if it fits, LMAO.
Fluff “I care about you. I’ve always cared about you.”
Keith Kogane is an enigma.
“Please, don’t,” Lance whispers quietly, closing his eyes tightly as he pulls away from Keith’s touch. “Please, don’t act like you care.”
He’s a puzzle Lance can’t seem to finish. Every day he finds a piece but loses another. Every day he falls deeper, deeper. And hopelessly.
“Lance,” Keith whispers quietly, voice low and heavy with disbelief and sadness. “Lance, I care about you. I’ve always cared about you.”
God, he can’t. He can’t fall again for someone who will leave, they always leave. “Keith, please don’t -”
“Okay,” Keith gives in abruptly and something cold sinks inside Lance. But then warmth is back on his cheek, lips ghosting over his own and Keith says, “I will prove it to you then.”
Lance falls deeper. But he doesn’t hit rock bottom.
Angst “Who did this? Who hurt you?”
Keith shuts his eyes close, letting out a shuddering breath as he tries to gather himself. He can feel Lance’s hands still working on him, fingers stroking the edge of his cut carefully before pressing the wet cotton against it.
Keith’s own hand tightens around his glasses, uncaring of the small crack he hears. They are broken, anyway. The football team made sure of that.
And Keith made sure not to let Lance know.
He hisses then, more out of surprise than pain when the pressure over the cut on his right cheek grows. He blinks his eyes open, instantly falling on Lance’s pair of blue.
Lance groans when he gets nothing, as expected. But he doesn’t cease his actions; he continues to work on his bruises, scowl growing over the dark shades that spread over his jaw and right eye.
Keith can tell he wants to punch something and yet his touch is gentle on him.
This is why he can’t let him know.
“Who did this?” Lance whisper, almost imploring him to answer. Keith purses his lips and stays quiet. Lance sets a gauze over his right cheek and strokes the surface tenderly. “Who hurt you?”
Keith shakes his head and leans forward, pressing his uninjured side of his face against Lance’s shoulder. He is tense, still angry at the entire ordeal and Keith’s silence, but he still wraps his arms around him and holds him tight.
Keith knows what is at stake. Keith knows Lance’s on a thin thread. And they both have worked so hard on getting Lance back on his feet.
Away from street fights, away from skipping classes and missing exams. Away from bad company and addictions.
Keith won’t let him fall back to that life. Not again. Not because of some bullies without life.
He will tell him, later when he’s calmer. Later when Lance is drowning in Keith’s touch and praise. Later under their blankets with hushed whispers.
Let them throw whatever they can; Keith won’t let them get to Lance.
