Just wanted to give some non-spoiler info about that original story I’ve been cooking up

Let me introduce you to the snow bunting

The reason I am introducing this little cutie to all of you is because I’ve decided that this is Snow White’s spirit animal/the animal she transforms into

Reasons:

1. Snow buntings are from colder climates (this is thematically important to SW)

2. They’re native to a lot of places including Germany

3. They have white and black feathers (“skin as white as snow, hair as black as ebony…”). The females do have some brown plumage to them, but that’s manageable

4. Songbirds. Can’t explain all the details, but she’s a singer. Recreationally, anyway

5. Petite. She’s biologically predisposed for being short, but she is also malnourished because the Evil Queen didn’t feed her, so…

I just think they’re an all around good animal for Snow White
