walking home from a shit party and I cross a couple talking​ about Jesus and the origins of humans, typical walking home from party shit but the girl is in a wheel chair and he’s on roller blades pushing her. They’re literally just fucking rolling through like some cinematic moment and if that’s not love I don’t know what is. Hope you two are able to make it. God I want to be loved.

i just got back from the worst party i think i’ve ever been to.

i got invited to someone’s graduation party (but not like an open house, like, a party) from my stats class.  he told me he was going to send me an invite on facebook in class, and i was so busy at work that week that i really did just ignore it for a bit, but then in class he was like “So did you get the invite?  you and your boyfriend should come!”  my boyfriend is working 2 doubles over the past 2 days so he did not come, but I decided I’d go for an hour or so to be nice, especially because the guest invite list was small (only 15 people rsvp’d as coming) and facebook description was like “let’s get silly!  meet new people and have fun” and I was like, okay, I rarely socialize and this is a small party and he asked me twice, so sure.  so i RSVP’d like a week ago.

but when i got there, he looked absolutely shocked to see me and uncomfortable.  we talked for a minute and then i went to get a beer and tried to strike up conversations with people who all have clearly known each other for 20+ years (I know because I asked).  and no one seemed to want to actually integrate me into their conversations, including this dude.

so i ended up drinking my beer, petting the kitty, and doodling with someone’s kid in the kitchen for about 40 minutes before I was finally like fuck this, I’d literally rather be home doing laundry.

so i left and now i’m home doing laundry and petting my own kitties, and this is much better.  at least i love myself enough to know when something is a waste of my time now and possess the actual courage to just fuckin leave and do my own thing when the situation calls for it.

but really.  like, why did you ask me, twice, if i would come, and invite me on facebook and then be shocked when i actually came when you knew that I RSVP’d to come?  and whyyyyyyy did you expect me to have fun when literally everyone else knows each other but me?

not the weirdest (weird is good!  i like weird!), but definitely the worst party i’ve ever attended.  and i drove 18 miles (roundtrip) for this!!
