But I have to say the E version of 3D is the first BTS-related song that I don't want to play on principle. Anyhoo, I'm not here to write directly about why JaHa's part is ick for me; what really got under my skin today were the arguments calling people out for criticizing it.

(1) "It's not misogynistic if she's consenting." What. Consent just makes it not assault and that's a low bar for me to want to support a song.

(2) "You're a prude." Got no problem with explicit lyrics or multiple partners but don't appreciate women being lined up as interchangeable conquests and whatever that reference to dead bodies was.

(3) "Guys their age think like this." Maybe but that's no reason not to keep fighting against normalizing that.

(4) "This is nothing compared to most rap." Exactly, and this is why I'll only listen to the kind that doesn't degrade women in the lyrics.

(5) "You're infantalizing and trying to control the artist." This is not telling him to stop smoking or go to bed or not to experiment with his music. He can of course do as he thinks best but if I think he's gone in a dodgy direction on a serious issue, I'm going to say it.

(6) "Trust JK, all that should matter is that this was his choice." Nope, because despite being called idols they are not gods but humans who make mistakes and have errors of judgment. We are proud that Joon listened to critiques of earlier lyrics and learned. How can that happen with blind sycophancy no matter what?

I don't write much anymore but damn I had to get that out of my system. As you were!!!

This is an argument that division by zero should be defined. I know. I should know better.

Notation Explanation

ℚ is a way to represent the set of all rational numbers. Those are any number that can be represented as a ratio of integers, so, you know, stuff like 1, 2, 1/2, 5/3, 230485238940/234425, etc. All of them. it doesn’t have things like the square root of two, but it does have the negative numbers, negative fractions, and zero.

To say a number is part of ℚ, you write, for example, 1/2 ∈ ℚ. To say it isn’t, you write, √2 ∉ ℚ. Say you want to take a set of all the number less than one but greater than 0 from ℚ. Then you can say X = {n ∈ ℚ | 0 < n < 1}.

This is read as X is(=) the set({ }) of all numbers n(n) in(∈) the rational numbers(ℚ, the entire phrase “rational numbers”) such that(|) 0 is less than n, which is less than 1.

Note that for this... thing, I’m defining less than and greater than as “closer to 0″ and “closer to ∞” respectively. This is not what they mean in the everyday, where -5 is less than 1, even though -5 is closer to infinity.

Okay. Now you should be able to read everything but that one clusterfuck.

So, new concept. Say you have two sets {1,2,3} and {4,5}. Then, {1,2,3} ∪ {4,5} means “the set produced by the union of the sets {1,2,3} and {4,5}”.

Union means you past the sets together: {1,2,3,4,5}

Minor note: Sets don’t allow duplicate elements. {1,2,3} ∪ {3,4} = {1,2,3,4}.

Duplicate elements merge.

∀(c ∈ [w ∪ y])∀(d ∈ [x ∪ z]) c/d = ∃(m ∈ [w ∪ y]) ʌ ((m ≥ c) v (m ≥ [n * c]))

This means “For all(∀) numbers c in the set produced by the union of the sets w and y, and for all numbers d in the set produced by the union of the sets x and z, c divided by d is some(∃) number m in the set produced by the union of the sets w and y, and(ʌ) either m is greater than c, or(v) m is greater than n * c.”

Euuugh. Notation has it’s uses. Um, minor note, the symbol I used for “either .... or ...” is actually a symbol that means “either ... or ... or both”. Don’t use v unless you actually mean “either ... or ... or both” I used it because for some inexplicable and masochistic reason, I composed this entire thing in paint, and paint doesn’t have the symbol for “either .... or ...”.

Look, nevermind the fact that I think being vegan is stupid and contrary to your body’s needs in so many ways I can’t count them, ‘reducing your carbon footprint/environmental impact’ is NOT the reason to do it, lady. 

You realize it costs as much to ship a ton of meat 500 miles as it does a ton of tomatoes? Right? You realize that the need for produce in this country outstrips the natural capacity enough that the environmental impact of a giant farm wasting billions of gallons of water irrigating stuff that shouldn’t by any logical reason be growing where they planted it is just about as bad as the ‘footprint’ of a ranch? 

Oh, and you want to ‘buy local’? You do realize WE LIVE IN A FREAKIN’ DESERT THAT GETS LIKE 8″ OF RAIN YEARLY AND THERE AREN’T HARDLY ANY FARMS aside from ‘I know a dude that gets some extra zucchini every year’? 

If you think you can subsist on nopales and mesquite beans, then I guess more power to you. Jeeezzzz. *fume*
