“You need to wake up because i can’t do this with out you.”

“No, Ashton, please.” You cried, resting your head against his chest as you waited for the paramedics,“You need to wake up because i can’t do this without you.” This wouldn’t have happened if he would of just stayed home and didn’t decide to ride that dumb bike of his. You hated that bike. It always worried you when Ashton would use it. You knew he would of gotten hurt on it, especially since it was raining. You tried to tell him not to go, but he insisted he would be okay.

“Ashton, please wake up. I can’t lose you, I just can’t.” You cried even harder, this time starting CPR. You did the thirty compressions, before breathing air in twice. Nothing. You tried again, and again nothing. 

“Ashton please, you can’t leave me. I’m pregnant, I can’t raise a child on my own.” you took a breath, doing the thirty compressions again. You could hear the sirens getting closer. You breathed air into him, hoping, praying that he’d wake up. You leaned down to his mouth, when you could of sworn you felt his chest move. You tried to focus on just him, ignoring the rain and the sirens. 

And that’s when you heard it, you could hear the faintest of breaths coming from his mouth. You breathed a sigh of relief, beginning to cry again. His breathing was becoming heavier and it only made you cry harder.

He was alive. 

“Hey.” You heard a raspy voice. You looked down at him, the smallest of smiles on his face.

“You idiot.” You cried, hiding your head in his chest, as he connected your hands. “I almost lost you, you’re such an idiot.” 

The paramedics showed up shortly, taking you and him to the hospital, your hands never disconnecting.

badboy!ashton always low-key flirts with you because he thinks you’re really cute but you never really notice because you’re a bit clueless. and on the last day of school before school lets out for winter break, he runs up beside you in the hallway before lunch and hands you a small box and smiles at you cheerfully. when he sees some of your friends coming up behind you, he glares at them until they go away and gestures for you to open your gift. you slowly unwrap the baby blue wrapping paper and open the ivory box and gasp. inside is your name written in silver wire hanging on a thin silver chain. “but.. why?” you ask him. he furrows his eyebrows and gives you a confused look. “don’t you get it?” you shake your head and he continues. “i like you… a lot, actually.”

It had always made you laugh when you heard people calling Ashton a bad boy. It seemed impossible for them to look past his ripped jeans and leather jackets, and see your best friend, the guy you’d known forever, the one who giggled incessantly and hugged tightly. These days it seemed like you spent more time at the apartment he shared with Luke than at your own, but Ashton didn’t seem to mind. You’d just gotten off a long shift at work, and breezed into his apartment, using your own copy of the key to his place, greeting him with a ‘honey, I’m home’, a greeting the two of you had been using for years. Ashton’s voice rang out from somewhere deep in the apartment, and if you had to guess, he was in his bedroom. Your hunch was correct, and you found him laying face first on the bed. The only movement he made was to shift his head your way, a small smile spreading across his face. Ruffling his hair, you walked past the bed and started digging through his drawers, looking for a shirt you could steal. Your work clothes were uncomfortable, and you’d been looking forward to getting out of them since halfway through your shift. Once you’d changed, you slumped down into the bed, laughing when Ashton reached your way sleepily, pulling you down so you were nose to nose with him. Leaning up, you kissed his forehead, but before either of you could say anything, the bedroom door opened, and Luke’s head popped into the room. He’d say something along the lines of it behind ‘about fucking time’ that Ashton admitted he was in love with you. His exclamation set off a series of events. Ashton groaned loudly and buried his head in the pillow, muttering curses under his breath as your eyes widened and the blood rushed quickly to your cheeks. Luke’s eyes were wide as well, knowing he’d let the cat out of the bag. Ashton threw a pillow at the door, and Luke ducked out, yelling an apology as he went. Ashton would hide in the pillows a little longer mumbling things about shitty best friends, but neither of you knew how to react as you’d begun to have some not so friendly feelings for him lately as well, until finally he took a deep breath and turned his head towards you, eyes meeting yours, a hopeful look in them. Pushing himself up on his elbow, he’d push the hair back from your eyes, and you tried hard to keep the smile off your face as you teased him, singing about how he loved you, your words cut off as his lips pressed against your own.
