antonia thomas, thirty-four, cis female, she/her + i just saw bellatrix lestrange down at diagon alley. apparently they’re working as a occupation these days, who knew? guess it makes sense, they were always pretty loyal & driven. i wonder how their manipulative & sadistic behaviours have been treating them during the war. where do you suppose a pure-blood like them stands, anyway? with the death eaters, i bet. they always make me think of a faded painting, a cage full of snakes, and thoughts that nobody should ever think.
Living with disappointments is hard, but through time you get used to them. But what do you do when all you are is a disappointment? Bellatrix was born a disappointment and she had been working since day one to bend things and try to alternate the situation even if impossible.Cygnus and Druella Black had dreamed of having the first son in the Black family, wanting to be the ones in control. However, instead of a boy- Bellatrix was born. Walburga gave birth to a boy that ruined every hope the two had. And the hate was of course draw onto the first born, the one that should have been a boy.And she became as strong as a boy soon enough.
She learned to have loyalty towards her family, she learned to not say ‘no’ to her father and to not argue with her mother when she told stories about when she is going to get married and let the legacy continue. Her mother wanted someone to dress up and let the beauty flow, her father wanted someone to train and be able to send to war when the time came. And Bellatrix was more close to what her father wanted, transforming her into a fighter way before they knew an actual war was brewing
But, her transformation hasn’t only because they wanted her to be like this. It was also because at a young age, when she was playing with dolls- Belaltrix would rather find beauty in the way the doll looked without a head on; broken rather than actually look respectable and dolled up.
.In Hogwarts and beyond, she created a name for herself- a name nobody wanted to mess with. She was known to be powerful, skilled with charms and having a passion for Dark Arts. Through out the war, she had been seen becoming more unstable per day- but, it’s not like nothing stopped her. Bellatrix liked this, the power, the leadership she could have. She had dedicated her life to this. And there’s a few people from her life that had stood with her and she actually cares about.
laura harrier, thirty, cis female, she/her + i just saw narcissa malfoy down at diagon alley. apparently they’re working as a socialite these days, who knew? guess it makes sense, they were always pretty meticulous & loyal. i wonder how their aloof & sycophantic behaviours have been treating them during the war. where do you suppose a pure-blood like them stands, anyway? with the death eaters, i bet. they always make me think of wilting daffodils, glistening ball gowns, a baby’s cry.
i am LATE to the party but what’s up pals ! i’m winnie ( 20, mst, she/her ) and i’m super excited to start writing with you all :~) also, if you’d like to plot, please don’t hesitate to send me a dm OR like this post and i’ll come to you !!
i tried writing a full-fledged bio, got irrationally frustrated about halfway through, and finally said fuck it i’m writing bullet points instead ! said bio will be posted eventually lmao
narcissa elladora black was born on january 7, 1955 on the coldest night of the year. she was the third girl born to cygnus and druella black, and, suffice to say, her birth was deemed a failure right from the start. consequently, narcissa spent the first few hours of her life in the arms of the midwife, as her mother couldn’t bear to gaze at yet another disappointment.
narcissa was not a remarkable child — too quiet, too skinny, too shy. not as intelligent as andromeda, not as confident as bellatrix. ever the opportunist, her mother saw this not as a disadvantage, but as a chance to morph her youngest daughter into whatever she wanted. narcissa went along with her mother’s demands with little fuss, steadily learning how to become a proper pureblood lady. before long, she had become druella’s mini-me, complete with the same condescending scoff and upturned nose whenever she came across something she disliked.
a trait that was uniquely narcissa, however, was that she was extremely observant. unlike other children her age, narcissa spent much of her time watching rather than playing. this sparked her interest in people-watching, as she became quite skilled in reading emotions and predicting the actions of those around her. for example, by observing her father, she could detect small mannerisms that most girls her age often would not —perhaps the way he clenched his fork a little too tightly or the way her mother would fidget with the corner of her napkin — that would signal an oncoming screaming match. these were always the evenings where she excused herself early.
hogwarts was an important time for her, as this was her first glimpse of the real world outside of her sheltered pureblood life. her first year was a steep learning curve, but she gained her footing after that. she learned that the way to the top is not with cruelty ( like many of her slytherin peers seem to believe ) but with deception. just like with her mother, she was always good at becoming exactly what others wanted her to be, and now she could finally put those skills to good use.
while narcissa is technically a socialite, she personally believes that her quote-on-quote job is much more nuanced than that. she is famous for her parties — whether it be for her modest tea parties with the death eater wives or extravagant new years balls — and uses these events as opportunities to gather information. she plays the part of a dutiful wife and party hostess extremely well, flitting from guest to guest and overhearing conversations she shouldn’t.
she is fiercely devoted to her family and will go great lengths to preserve their safety. for her, part of this means upholding an impeccable reputation for both the blacks & the malfoys. it’s important that they demonstrate their loyalty to the dark lord, but, at the same time, seem innocuous enough as to not alert the ministry.
because of her family devotion, regulus, andromeda, and sirius are very much sore points for her ( though for different reasons ), so it’s probably not best to bring them up. but actually ? please do. i’m a slut for angst.
speaking of family, she has a son that i probably should’ve mentioned earlier ? draco lucius malfoy was born on july 5, 1984, and he means the world to her. she vowed that, despite the raging war, draco’s childhood would be filled with nothing but love — something she rarely received in her own childhood. the pregnancy itself was a difficult one ( lucius and her tried for eight+ years before being successful, though more on this when i finally get around to writing that bio ). she would do anything to keep him from harm, and his birth completely shifted her perspective on the war. when it first started, she firmly believed that the dark lord’s violence was a necessary evil. now, she just wants it to end.
matthew hitt, twenty-five, cis male, he/his + i just saw remus lupin down at diagon alley. apparently they’re a bookseller these days, who knew? guess it makes sense, they were always pretty resilient & loyal. i wonder how their secretive & self-loathing behaviours have been treating them during the war. where do you suppose a half-blood like them stands, anyway? with the order of the phoenix, i bet. they always make me think of messy hair, ink-stains on fingertips, and bruised knuckles hanging onto the sleeve of a wool sweater.
For as long as Remus can remember, he’s lived a double life. He’s no stranger to secrets, and has been fighting a war inside himself for a lot longer than the one that’s raging outside their doors.
Bitten by Fenrir Greyback at the age of four, he quickly learned to live life within the confines of four walls. In an effort to conceals condition, his family moved more times than he could remember from the wild Irish countryside to the cool Welsh coast, all of these changes making the young werewolf more independent, curious, and achingly lonely. As a child, Remus was taken to countless healers and medicine men and women from across the globe, all filled with empty promises that did little but cost the family everything they had and leave their son with physical and mental scars that would last a lifetime.
His life changed drastically when he met Albus Dumbledore, a man who introduced himself as a headmaster and welcomed him into the Wizarding community when no one else had before. At school, he wasn’t just given opportunity and education, but also friends that would quickly become family.
Remus is exceedingly clever and kind, with a quick-witted sense of humor. On the surface, he appears quiet and unobtrusive; patient and level-headed, moving through life cautiously and in carefully crafted layers. Few have managed to break down these barriers in the past, but those who have earn his unwavering loyalty.
Albus Dumbledore invited Remus to join the Order’s forces when he was eighteen, and accepting was a decision that came naturally to the werewolf. He fights to protect the people he has grown to know as family, and build a more accepting and open-minded world.
He prides himself on his work ethic, a stubborn habit that carried him through his time at school and the early years of the war unwaveringly. He refuses to give up and concede when things get difficult, and doesn’t allow his condition to define or limit him. In recent years, his desperation to prove himself and help the people he cares about has become more reckless, something that worries those closest to him. He continues to push himself too hard and too far, constantly balancing on a fine line and ignoring a rapidly approaching breaking point that looms in the distance.
The part of the war that he struggles with most is the fear of something happening to his friends when they’re out of his sight. At the beginning of the war, this was little more than a hesitant, quiet fear slipping into his thoughts when he lay on the edge of sleep, and easily excused by his friend’s firm and reassuring words— they would be okay, they would all be okay. However, after having to stand by and watch as this fear slowly became reality, it now feels more like an overwhelming current, the crippling sensation threatening to drown the wizard. The loss of Peter was a turning point for the wizard, only validating his worst fears. In the recent months, it has been increasingly difficult for the werewolf to justify all of the pain and heartache that he has had to witness. On nights when he knows that his friends are out on missions or performing various tasks for the Order, Remus is often unable to sleep, his anxiety keeping him up as his mind runs over all of the worst possible scenarios. Instead, he resorts to distractions to drown out these fears: some obvious, and others more hidden.
