May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and right now, taking care of your mental health is more important than ever. The resources below cover many aspects of taking care of your mental health, from virtual programming with fellow queer teens to general resources on coping in this uncertain time of Covid-19. Check out some of the resources below if you’re struggling or know someone who is. Some are specifically local to MA residents, some aren’t.

Compiled by BAGLY, the Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Youth. The resources cover mental health, food, housing, employment, entertainment, and other MA-specific resources.

Many of BAGLY’s regular daily/weekly programs have been moved to a virtual setting and are open to youth 22 and under.
Resources for LGBTQIA+ Youth during Covid-19
Compiled by the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth, it is a continuously updated Google doc with a wide range of resources. Section 6 is a long list of mental health resources.

Mental Health Resources for Teens
Compiled by us, the Medford Public Library -- a list of general mental health resources for teens, with some specifically related to LGBTQIA+ youth.
Organization for LGBTQIA+ youth in the MetroWest area of Boston. Currently all youth groups are virtual, and, as with their in person programs, can be attending by youth anywhere in MA seeking community.
A crisis hotline staffed by transgender people, for transgender people.
Free online discussion groups for tweens and teens. These groups provide you with the opportunity to connect with others, share experiences, and feel the comfort of a supportive community.
