Just found out about a rural art and music festival happening in a week and a half. It's a bit of a drive, but still within my day trip radius. Idk if I'm going yet as I have plans that day I'd have to rearrange, but if anyone is in the area it sounds like it'll be a good time!

Dr. Katia Hougaard's PhD Graduation Experience Part 2: After the postgraduate graduation ceremony at the Albert Hall, my guests and I went on a stroll around to take some photos together and people-watch. There were lots of festive photo booths and photo props set up all around the South Kensington campus. It was delightful to see all the family and friends dressed in elegant clothing as well as their traditional outfits from countries such as India, China, Japan, Pakistan, and Nigeria. Despite the rainy conditions, we still enjoyed the reception for the Natural Sciences graduates in the vast marquee set up in Prince's Gardens across Exhibition Road. There were beautiful decorations of artificial wisteria and sakura trees shading the tables laden with sparkling drinks as well as tempting finger food and sweets. While I didn't meet any of my colleagues, friends, or students I knew in the 2017-2020 time period (before the pandemic / interruption of studies), I did meet my supervisor Professor Colin Turnbull at the reception. He was looking regal in his Cambridge PhD robes, so much so that I didn't recognise him in the academic procession during the ceremony. Although the official celebrations hosted by Imperial College were over, there's more to tell about this special day! See you in Part 3. #phd #imperialcollegelondon #imperialcollege #postgraduate #graduation #phdgraduation #ourimperial #london #events #academicdress #academia
