!!!PSA to american protestors!!!
Police has started putting veryyyy inviting piles of bricks in the streets they know protestors are going to walk in in order to purposefully make the protest turn into a riot, have an excuse to get violent, and make the protestors look bad in the massmedia coverage that will follow. It was a nototious thing the Hongkong police used to do- use accellerantism in order to make the protesters work against themselves. If you see random piles of bricks or similar things (mundane objects that can become improper weapons) LEAVE IT ALONE and encourage whoever you see reaching for them to do the same! Especially if you or them are a white person trying to live their anarchist fantasy knowing damn well that black protesters will pay the price. Instead, use them to obstacle police cars in a non-violent way: a popular strategy of Hongkong protestors was to set them up to form tiny obstacles made out of three bricks, tiny stonehenges with two vertical bricks acting as pillars and an orizzontal one put above them. Set one of these up every 50cm or so, especially if you know that more police units are coming without good intentions!! (Protip/common sense: if more units are coming, they do not have good intentions)
[Image description: the cartoon version of a block of brick saying "Well howdy! I'm just a mysterious pile o' bricks. I've been seen at many of the recent BLM protests sitting around areas of no construction or carefully removed from things like streets or sidewalks and placed in neat, easy-to-grab piles! DO NOT REACH FOR ME! I AM INTENTIONALLY PLACED HERE TO CREATE VIOLENCE! This is used to delegitimize the movement and allows for more force to be used. Instead, alert those around me that I am a trap, and document me with photo and video evidence using #BAITBRICKS. Do not share this directly! Copy and paste the photo to your own page so that no one is targeted!" End of transcript]
----- sharing from a friend in that area I trust! ------
excellent solution!
Stay safe yall
SHARE THIS AND SPREAD THE WORD!! Do NOT let them divide the movement or make a mockery of this by inciting violence!! I urge those in the area to document these #BAITBRICKS and the notification of your city officials before someone does something stupid. If they all know, we all know. Why would anyone even be allowing construction materials to be dropped now, clearly about to be left over a weekend, when there are known protests happening?? 🤔 Has anyone else noticed these??
