Okay, this says WIP, but I don’t have too many, so I’m gonna run with published works, and that’s how I read it.

This is from my latest MarLaw (Marco and Law) two-shot, just wrapped up and published:
Both men moved a little apart, but quiet grins seeded their features like sprouts breaking through a wasteland.

Same work. I don’t know if it’s the last, cos I don’t necessarily write in order. Oh, wait...I do have one from a WIP, cos there was one issue I didn’t resolve with that story.
Damn Law. Marco rolled up the sleeves of the cardigan. How tall was Bepo? How could he shamble him out of the sub without giving him a chance to change out of this crime against humanity?
🤯 Share a surprising line, or one where a character realizes something.
Hmm. Do I have any fics like that? Yeah, okay, this is from a KidLaw.
Flicking through the Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Numismatics, Kid went from memory. The old emperor's face was on the back of the coins, the date a few years before the summer Olympics held twenty years ago. The currency highlighted that event.
The page prior showed a war year when only one very limited batch of coins had been minted. They sold for 30,000 beri each, starting. From the smallest denomination to the highest.
He turned the page, hand tight, lips downturned, fingers of his other hand wrapped around the neck of his beer. He'd track him down if he'd ripped him off. If he thought Kid was a financial chump just because lalalgar was a doctor, he had another thing coming. He took a swig and peered closer at the page.
Beginning rate, 1000 beri, finishing 3000 for mint condition, and even with a soft scrubbing (with a toothbrush) in soapy water, the coins wouldn't be anywhere near mint. The doc had paid four times the basic price. Not top dollar, considering any possible mark-up, but he hadn't cheated him.
🎲 Using a method of your choosing, share a randomly-selected line.
Okay, I used a random number generator to choose a work, and then to choose a line. This is an older one, but also MarLaw (LawMar).
In the shade, Marco followed Law's arms looping behind his head. The black shirt was new. The last time he'd pushed anything up, along, and off Law's chest, it was a blue and yellow sweatshirt. Law's crew probably dressed him in clothes sporting their Jolly Roger, and were the ones to ink him up with the same, like sewing his name into his underwear, because he strayed. Someone would return him (or the items of clothing) sooner or later. The man was surely more precious to his crew than his clothes, which might explain the stained skin.
Fics: 1& 2: Lint, 3: A Tiding of Magpies, 4. Payback. All on my AO3. Link is in my header and the source.
