When I watched the Water 7 arc I don't think I fully appreciated it, partially because I already knew that Franky would become a member of the crew and that Robin wouldn't be leaving so I wasn't as drawn into the story as the other arcs.

But since having caught up with the anime, and now reading the manga I can say that my opinions have changed, Water 7 is great, there's so much suspense and drama, it's completely different from the others, this time it's not just a road to the bad guy, there's so much drama and little plot points and hints that help build everything that comes in the series after it.

It was a good idea to read the manga, I still love the anime but reading everything again has just made me love it more.
