swedish raspberry buns again! you'll notice half of these are pleasantly golden and the other half are slightly pale. this is because i baked the first tray for 20 minutes and the second tray for 22 minutes after deciding belatedly that the first tray did not have enough color
Hey everyone,
I’m having a stubborn cold lately, but being home for Christmas is like a warm hug. Despite the sniffles, I was determined to whip up a Christmas cake because, let’s be real, my mom can’t get enough of it.
Watching her face light up is the best holiday view for me. My pals are craving a slice, but they’re all over the place. Hoping that, someday, I can treat all my favorite people to a taste of the cakes I bake.

recipe: my favorite blueberry scones by sallysbakingaddiction. i don't have vanilla extract so i just added almond extract. didn't even measure it. like whatever. also used half and half instead of heavy cream because i'm just not keeping that many different kinds of milk substances in my house. she also puts vanilla icing on hers. i'm not doing that 👍
before i forget i made bread today
and here it is. i scored it with the lame like six times across the top and all of those basically disappeared and instead it tried to rise.. like that. which is interesting. i'm still in a battle to get it to actually jump but we persevere. onward!

first: mini quiches. i used sally's recipe. basically. half of the quiches are salami and gruyere, and half are spinach, mushroom and gruyere. plus green onion for all.
second: sad little sourdough loaf. as a first attempt it's. fine. we will persevere and continue to #try. i used my dad's recipe that he dictated to me over the phone. naturally his sourdough loaves always look a lot better than this one. actually debbie downer self-review canceled i just sliced it and ate a piece and it's good! i just need to address the lack of #jump.
third: old faithful. chocolate chip banana bread.
