Baking Weekend: Cinnamon Rolls (no yeast)
Last Friday I bought my first ever rolling pin. I had the chance to use it when I made cinnamon rolls yesterday.
The recipe can be found here, if anyone is interested.
Baking Weekend: Have some cookies and cake
The past weekends my crochet took a backseat, giving way to...
BAKING!!!
Last weekend I had "experiments" in the kitchen, and here are the results:
I only used half of the recipe, because I was being careful in case something goes wrong with my cookie dough. (The previous week I tried this recipe, but I misread the ingredients and I ended up putting too much baking soda. I had to throw away the cookies I baked and the remaining dough.)
The cookies weren't as chewy as I wanted, but at least they were small and easy to eat. And according to the five people who ate them they tasted good. :)
The Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe can be found here.
It was my first time baking this cake, so I was expecting it would be slightly underbaked at some parts. I also forgot to brush my cake tin with butter (I don't have cooking oil spray), and I was worried that the cake wouldn't come off easily. But! I was pleasantly surprised! When I took the tin out of the oven the cake was evenly baked. And when I inverted the tin to a plate the cake came off easily. It was not perfect though; some pineapple chunks came off too. But that's good enough for me.
I gave my brother, sister-in-law and her sister half of the cake, and they all liked it. My sister-in-law does not usually eat cakes like this, only plain ones with frosting like chocolate cake, and she said my cake was pretty good. Heehee. :)
The recipe for this Pineapple Upside-down Cake can be found here.
