Wild ride
Being in love with Deku felt like a rollercoaster ride. First, it made Katsuki’s stomach twist and turn, as if anticipating something exciting.
Then, it started to make Katsuki nauseous. How could he have fallen for someone like that? So weak and totally not his type.
After that, the adrenaline running through his veins as they dropped, throwing him all over the place, not knowing where he will end up when getting off.
In the end, the exhilaration of the ride turned into happiness, making Katsuki unable to do anything but smile. That’s how it felt like to be in love with Deku.
Katsuki hid his smile as Izuku excitedly walked in front of him, gawking his eyes out at all the attractions at the amusement park they went to. Izuku had been talking about wanting to go here for weeks, but never had the money to buy a ticket.
This morning, Katsuki had surprised him by showing up at his room at the dorms, waving two tickets to the park around. Katsuki’s heart had fluttered as he saw Izuku’s smile travelling to his eyes, the green orbs shimmering as he realized what the pieces of paper in Katsuki’s hand were.
That smile hasn’t left Izuku’s face since they entered the park. He stared in awe at everything. The huge rollercoasters, the colorful kid rides, he thought everything was amazing and wanted to try EVERYTHING!
Katsuki was dragged along from ride to ride. From the haunted house, to the carrousel, taking a break at the food court and trying weirdly colorful dishes that tasted way too sweet for Katsuki’s taste, but Izuku seemed to indulge in them. Katsuki didn’t mind the hole in his wallet that was left because of Izuku’s outrageous spending.
In the gift shop, they lingered around. Izuku tried to find a nice souvenir for him to bring home to his mom, while Katsuki was just browsing. Something on the far end of the store caught his eye and attracted him to the other side, leaving from Izuku’s view.
Izuku was far too entranced picking something from the dozens of available trinkets to notice what Katsuki was doing, until Izuku yelped from surprise, something soft pressing against his scalp. Izuku turned around and looked up to Katsuki who was grinning down at his Deku. The green fluffy kitty ears that Katsuki had secretly bought nearly blended in perfectly with Izuku’s unruly hair.
Katsuki had to forcefully turn away as not to let Izuku notice the blush creeping onto his face. Izuku thanked him and quickly went to pay for his souvenir, stuffing it into Katsuki’s backpack as Izuku drags him along to the last ride of the day: the biggest rollercoaster in the park.
The line is agonizing and Katsuki can only manage to bear it by swinging his arms around Izuku’s neck and hooking his chin over his shoulder as he huffs in discontentment.
Eventually, they get strapped into the seats. They’re sitting in double cars next to each other. Even though Katsuki likes the thrill, heights kind of frighten him sometimes. He’s slightly shaking as they climb up, but when the good feelings finally start to kick in, he looks aside at Izuku, who is smiling from ear to ear.
The fear of the anticipation is melting away.
The nauseous feelings never occur.
The adrenaline running through his veins stay absent.
All he knows as they plummet down the steep slope, is that feeling of happiness and satisfaction when they finish.
Being in love with Deku isn’t a rollercoaster anymore.
It’s a slow and steady ride, that Katsuki would like to stay on forever.
