“Are You Nasty?” for KiriBaku

Kirishima’s favorite jogging clothes include a small pair of red booty shorts that say “Are You Nasty?” across the butt. Now this shouldn’t be a problem because no one can convince him to wear something else when he goes out for his morning run and it’s not like he’s hurting anyone. But then one day, Kirishima and Shouji come back together and the first thing the class hears is, “Are you always so popular on a run?”

Shouji explains to everyone else while Kiri is in the shower that they kept getting ogled by a bunch of people. Girls stopped Kiri to flirt and touch his legs. Guys were unabashedly staring at his behind. And Shouji noticed all of it due to being as perceptive as he is.

The others find it kind of funny that Kiri is so oblivious to his own magnetism but Bakugou is not having it. He decided to join Kiri on his morning jogs from then on and glares at anyone who tries to get too close or stares for too long. Kiri, of course notices that of all things.

A week passes and Kiri knocks on Bakugou’s door and he has a gift. A pair of black booty shorts that say “Are You Jealous?” Who is Baku to say he’s wrong?

“Is it my fault I want to flaunt these legs and this ass?” asks Kiri. “You never give them the attention they need.”

Bakugou is floored by this and ends up spilling exactly how he feels about Kiri’s body. From his head to his toes. Kirishima, as red as his hair, responds in kind. In the end, they continue going on runs but with new shorts. “I’m His, Back Off” shorts.

well I would say this is the tragic UA kids need to sit through a Sex Ed class because it’s high school and everyone should have to experience that hell. Lol  these poor chicken nuggets.

Afterwards everyone is a fumbling MESS and they cannot look at each other because let me tell you, those classes are super important but they are awkward AF.

everyone avoids each other but sucks to be kiribaku and seroroki. They have been dancing around crushes on each other since YEAR 1, and now they are in YEAR 3 still pining and unfortunately thinking about stuff THEYWOULDRATHERNOTBETHINKINGABOUTTHATISALSONOONE’SDAMNEDBUSINESSYAHEAR!? 

Sero asks Bakugou is he wants to go on a drive to avoid the huge elephants in the school and Bakugou is “Fucks to the yes plz get me the fuck out of here!” 

They don’t know that Kirishima and Todoroki are having similar feels about this particular sitch and try to leave too. These four boys have been carefully avoiding each other ALL DAY. Of fucking course Sero forgets his car keys upstairs and Bakugou is ready to lose it.they quickly try and run upstairs to avoid getting caught in the elevator with them ya know, just in case.

Meanwhile, Kirishima is headed down stairs to escape with Todoroki to go get McDonalds or something but they have a similar idea, avoid Sero and Bakugou by using the stairs and whoops, that’s where they meet up and very awkwardly try and get out of the feels talk.

I feel pretty similar in the sense that it feels impossible for a gay character to be in the main circle of a shounen. I 100% believe Kirishima is gay though. I mean, look at Magne and Tora, they're both transpeople and that fact is stated in canon for Magne and on Tora's character into. So, if two trans people are in the story then maybe a gay relationship isn't out of the question? Or at least hinting at it? Idk;;

Yeah, I don’t really know what could be a hint and what is just straight-up reading between lines that aren’t there. I’d say that over time I became good at seeing gay-coded characters in Western media, but I’m really out of my depth when it comes to any other culture and society. I hc Kirishima as gay as well but no one but Hori (and his editors) knows if he is (and if he is, I’m sure it doesn’t really matter to Hori, as in he’s not going to go out of his way to show how gay Kirishima is)(which I actually like, since I don’t like sexuality being used as a trope). 

For all we truly know, everything we see as a sign he might be gay is simply part of a character type and is in no way a sign of anything. All of Hori’s characters are much more than their gender identity or possible sexuality. What I wish could be hints are, as far as we know, just characters traits that give personality to Hori’s characters. Kirishima liking manly things and not looking at girls and being attached to Bakugou could be hints that he’s gay and has a crush on his friend, or it could more simply be facts that have to  be taken as such: he likes beef and is a well-raised, nice kid.

Now indeed, Magne and Tora are trans, which makes me think Hori could very well include gay characters as well, not because they’re gay but because they’re characters who happen to be gay. But including them in the main cast? I don’t know if Shonen Jump would let him do that. 

All this being said, Kirishima’s gayness is a pebble compared to the mountain  that would be Kiribaku. Kirishima would have to be gay (which, okay, he might), but then Bakugou would have to be gay as well, and Bakugou is a much bigger character. Making him gay of all things would put a target on Hori’s back. Now a gay relationship between two members of the main cast? I don’t see it happening at all. I wish, I truly do, but I can’t bring myself to believe it.

Then again Hori has surprised me a lot throughout the series, has often known how to play with tropes and expectations and is the kind of creator who, I think, could be in the right position to make Shonen Jump accept anything. I believe that if someone is about to make a gay relationship happen in a main shonen cast, it’s him.
