Cameroon Internet Blocked
This morning of Jan 18th, 2017 I received that e-mail directed to me and onther actvists around the world to spread this great problem of Internet Balcanization.
[..]The people of southern Cameroon are not able to access the internet at this present moment.because the the goverment of Cameroon has secretly asked internet service providers like mtn, nextel,orange,camtel, To short down the internet in this region of the country.
we just recieve notification from the veriou service providers that the situation which has let to the failure of the supply of a trustful and unconditional internet to thier clients in southern cameroon,is beyoung their control.
This came as a result of the two month strike of teachers and layers which has definitely transformed into a state where all the civil society is involed and they are presently requesting for independence of southern Cameroon. government faild to meet their demands.
so they desided to declared a strike by declaring a ghost town in this region of the country. Where the internet played a greater rule.
Presently I can say the internet and the social medial has been the key player of this strike and it has been capture by the government. And presently we are demanding the government to imidiatly releast the internet to the southern Cameroonians .
The internet was used as a tool to spread information concerning the strike on social medial and orther platforms, To the civil society And the strike was all successful because of the king known as the internet,
Now as am writing the internet has been Short down in sorthern Cameroon.
Due to all effort made by we want web or web foundation to make internet fast and great in africa, it shows that the mission and objective of web foundation in Africa to improve digital access, fast internet, and neutral web and social platform that are use for freedom of expression is under traits, by a corupt ,diabolic and fetish government
The rest of the world need this service as A tool to reach out to this poeple and give the the support they will need.
