What morphs are known for the wobble or any other neurological disorder/ aren't healthy morphs?

Best places to find a variety of morphs

Favorite not extremely expensive morphs

Places where I could potentially adopt not buy a breeded one

I have had snakes before and am only looking for extra help finding the best ball for me

Hey, snake people. In a few months I’ll be getting a ~9 year old female ball python. A former breeder.

She used to be mine when I was a teenager, but my dad sold her and all of my other snakes when I went to college without telling me. We had an agreement that he could sell some snakes, but he was supposed to keep the few I specified. This snake was one of them. He sold her anyway. I’m still in college, but I’m getting my shit together so I can get her back... and hopefully some of my others, too. If I can afford to, and if I have the ability to care for them. Her current owner has agreed to sell her back to me, and I’m thrilled. She’s gravid right now, but after she lays and starts eating again, I can bring her back home.

Here’s the trouble: She’s been in a rack system her whole life. That picture up above is from when I used to own her. I didn’t know any better when I was a teenager (I mean, I got her when I was fourteen. I was still in middle school), but now I’d like to transition her to the pet life. I bought her a 4x2x2 foot PVC cage, which is the best I can afford and the most I can realistically fit in a college dorm, and the most I can even sort of move with. I know she can go on and off of food when her living circumstances are changed, and her current owner told me that she’ll only eat if she’s in a grey tub.

So, anyone who has any ideas at all, how can I transition her to pet life? What do I need to do? I’m reading up on ball python care again, but I also could really use personal guidance if anyone can help me. Anything on the transition, moving with a ball python (due to, you know, not permanently living in a dorm), enrichment... Really anything. She’s probably pretty overweight and undermuscled, so uh, snake physical therapy advice would even be helpful.

Also, if anyone has any guidance on how to DIY appropriately sized and enriched ball python enclosures that are easier to move with, cheaper, etc., please let me know. I want to do it right this time, and if I can get more of my former snakes back, I’d like to. It’s just.. really challenging.

I do have two snakes at college with me now, a Honduran milk snake and a Kenyan sand boa. No trouble there. It’s just intimidating jumping back into ball pythons when I know I’ve made so many mistakes with them previously.

This has been really rambly. This is an emotionally challenging and financially draining process for me, and I would appreciate literally any advice or support. I’m doing my best.

Hello peoples, I just wanted to say how damn rattled I am, and school hasn’t even started for me. Today is the last day of summer, and I was awoken into the WORST mood of all time. To the point where when I was brushing my hair, I almost tried to smack the back of my head that I somehow someway would get a concussion. I am not at ALL ready for what school has to offer me this year. I’m a little pissed I have more than 3 classes. I know I do this all the time but I do wanna start posting on here. And I’m thinking about linking my yt channel once I get into a nice ol swing of it. I feel like my brain is on peepeepoopoo mode rn. I feel like the minute I walk into my school I’m going to combust. Also I really want a ball python, and I want as much information as I can about them before I get one, if anyone would be nice enough to leave some comments with tips, facts, and helpful information about ball pythons what you guys do with your snake that works, thank you. So I’m planning on getting a ball python very soon, within the month hopefully, and I’m creating a supply list so I can start building his habitat and ensuring I have the best husbandry I can. One thing I’m worried about is the uth and maintaining the right temp and humidity so if anyone has any tips, I’d greatly appreciate it!

hey reptiblr, could you help a gal out? our smallest ball python has been acting odd very recently. we fed him two days ago, and today i planned to take him out to observe him and make sure he shed properly, but he struck as soon as i opened the cage (missed though). he struck again when i closed the cage, and then hit the glass striking again. thinking he was still hungry, i gave him another meal, which he ate very quickly and enthusiastically. afterwards, he was still in striking pose and looking very inquisitive.

the rats we give him are starting to get small for him, but the next size are still too big in my opinion.

this behavior from i him i haven’t seen yet, and the fact that he continues to be strikey after another meal worries me.

i am thinking its a combination of growing out of his rat size and not being handled enough (i returned from college only recently, my mom was taking care of the snakes until then, so i don’t know specifically how much she’s handled them, but im thinking not often enough), but does anyone have any suggestions?

my ball python has dead skin from her last shed stuck on her eyes. she obviously doesn't like it when i touch her face and the baths aren't helping- even with shedding aid. she can't see very well and i'm afraid that this could do some serious damage to her eyes if not make her go blind. what do i do???? im really worried about my baby
