One thing i really dislike about solangelo shippers is the fact that they tag anything with nico or will as solangelo. I’ve gotten to a point of contempt with the ship that I’ve blocked the tag, and occasionally stuff of it still pops up, and I’m given the option to still look at the post. And i think like 70% of the time it shows art of just nico or just will. I feel it really takes away from their character to decide anything of them on their own is still related to their canon partner. 💔

how the heck do I go about looking into the dear hunter and/or chonny jash? I’ve seen your works on it and it looks really cool but I have no idea where to start lol (also sorry if I asked this before and forgot, ma bad)

Chonny jash has a lot of completely separate songs, eps, albums, all that stuff, some is connected like the power hour project and some are standalone like patchwork doorstop paranoia, but you can pretty much start anywhere since most isn’t story driven and most isn’t connected to anything else, He has a lot of covers so covers of artists you like may be a start, and for originals, the album patchwork doorstop paranoia is my favorite but he also has a lot of original music based on things like his majora’s mask album. All and all it doesn’t especially matter where you start but you just have to find things that match your music taste since his genres are all over the place

For TDH it’s a bit more complicated since they have two larger interconnected storylines that range across multiple albums; for example the acts series and the indigo child (TIC, antimai, and sunya) so if you want to listen chronologically i’d start with act 1, go in act order if you want a story through only music, but the indigo child has a lot of other media associated with it: ie, a short film, arg, etc. But a lot of the music is great standalone stuff and it’s not a requirement to go into it like a story

They also have other things like the color spectrum, migrant, etc. which aren’t as story driven or connected but are also very good though i personally prefer the acts and indigo child

As for another project of theirs; the north american EP there is a movie that goes along with it that isn’t necessarily important to the music but is a good watch for a bit of context

All and all, I would say chonny jash you can really start anywhere and it’s mostly music focused besides s few concept album/story based music such as chonny’s charming chaos compendium but it isn’t hard to get into and there’s no real bad place to start, and for the dear hunter pretty much the same but there is a lot more interaction and theory crafting involved especially if you want to interact with and understand the story(s) fully but i would personally deem it worth it.

My personal recommendations:

CJ (mix of original music and covers): count 11, april’s fool, the forest for the trees, the soul eclectic, cotard’s solution, twist the knife, the king the fool and the poison, and 20XX

TDH: The lake and the river, In cauda venenum, mustard gas, shlammin salmon, the pimp and the priest, Dear ms. leading, Ring 4- patrol, Marauders, The oracles on the delphi express, Ring 7- industry, the march, the revival, the procession, a night on the town, this body, the old haunt, the poison woman, the tank, and the bitter suite IV and V; the congregation.

(i’m not as big of a fan of color spectrum, migrant, the indigo child, etc so this is mostly acts series and indigo child sequels but that shouldn’t dissuade anyone from giving those a try too)

I will give a trigger warning about the dear hunter’s music especially the acts have themes of prostitution, war, violence, religious trauma, among others so listen at your own risk

I'm pretty much the worst person to even weigh in on this topic because I've been partial to Suvi since day one, but in my opinion there wasn't ever a need to explain or justify Suvi's choices/reactions.

Not because she's perfect, never wrong (though in my heart I know...) but because I'm very certain that the people that keep on hammering on her mistakes/shortcomings/tendencies are people that already dislike Suvi (or don't like Aabria very much, I wish this wasn't a topic of consideration but even 30+ eps in there's still people like that around) for whatever reason and gather excuses to justify their bias against her and no amount of explanation will turn their hearts in her favour.

It really feels like a parallel to the way Suvi herself tries to be understood by her friends and yet she fails time and time again.

And people insist on forgetting that Suvi is not the Citadel, she's just one young wizard of the Citadel.

And it's gut-wrenching how much I relate to that feeling of alienation before every corner she tries to fit in: amongst her citadel peers she's othered by her position and privilege, and now by her friendship to a witch and a spirit; between her friends she's the odd-one-out because of her Citadel connections and the nature of her power; and now amongst the witches she stands out by being the face of the "enemy".

I don't blame her for clinging to the little corner of the world that has not made her feel foreign despite the very nature of her presence: in Steel's family whom she's not related to by blood, yet completely by heart.

And it'll never be a fair game. The girls especially are very young and with new-found independence, they're given colossal decisions to make, and that before beings older than three generations of them combined and incomprehensively more powerful and less empathic.

As much as Mirara wants there to be a good witch and bad witch, there's no such thing as black and white, there are decisions and consequences, what one does with the power they're given. There is no right or wrong in a fight filled with so much heart, there was never a world where a fight between Ame and Suvi would be clean.

Things I don't believe are real as a very spiritual person:

Crystal Grid shit. (I haven't even tried to look into it but it seems phony.)

The threefold rule. (Not that I can quantify has this ever happened, though I don't tend to wish bad on anybody so maybe I hacked it.)

Starseeds. (Say it with me, Ancient Aliens are a dogwhistle and I refuse to Participate, plus it's just a personality type test with more gravitas than is strictly necessary.)

A God who can be mad at you. (Your Karma isn't about divine wrath, it's about teaching you a lesson that you need.)

Totally Inescapable Fates (Free Will can alter any course don't @ me.)

Monotheistic religion or new pantheons. (Humans already figured this out way back, if it's after the monomyth era, it's probably derivative.)

Any divination is good divination or even remotely correct. (I've had a lot of readings I was guided to that don't make sense or that I had to interpret myself, not to mention some folks are in fact lying, and some readings are in fact not meant to be messages, but in fact diversions.)

Horoscopes are absolute. (Just no. You're still a freely thinking and acting being, it's not ever going to fully resonate 100% of the time, and you still need to claim responsibility for your actions.)

Light language. (Not real. Enochian is also not real. Okay? Okay.)

some people cannot consume media correctly. like I'd rather be with the most media illiterate person ever than be with some of you guys who can't even consume media at all. like, fandom is not and is seperate of canon at the same time. Meta, analysis are included in fandom. but some of you guys genuinely think fandom is just 'shipping >o< !!! aus owo!! fanfics!!! xd' these things are fandom things but aren't the ONLY fandom things. characters ages, personalities, when a character has something specified, its probably important about that character most of the time, but some of you guys genuinely think fandom means that we should all forget canon and ignore canon personalities and everything about canon. and thats so wrong, you're supposed to be able to acknowledge canon while also still being able to have fun with fannon. "its just fiction!" weird way to tell me you didn't actually care about the story and its message and only care about the ships instead of other things aswell. stories usually do/are meant to have a message, movies aren't just made for "hahah cute xd" their made to send a message.

Also, its okay to still have ships that dont make sense or sometimes go out of the way to not be apart of the source material or wouldn't make sense, but thats not the only thing about fandoms, its a core part, but not the only thing.
