Link is not familiar with the ingredients from his region of Hyrule, so he's had to make some creative guesses. This is of course not helped by the twittering egg or the growing ominous silence from the researching princess, and the normally unflappable Link can't help but allow some stress to show.

Slipping his ladle into the cooking pot to pull out a small spoonful of what should be soup, he makes a face at the result, the expression accompanied by a victorious and vindictive tweet from the egg. It's not a couple loss though. At least Link's flat bread has turned out, although that would be challenging to mess up, but Terrako seems to have seized a pair of the pieces of bread before smushing them against his face with another triumphant whistle.

Link scowls at the egg, swatting both at the device and also pushing the pieces of bread away. Pointing and accusing finger at Terrako, fisted hand sweeps out from under his chin, thumb sticking out. Fingers pinch together before tapping his lips. << You don't even eat! >> he protests, before frowning back at his soup.

Well, the bread is serviceable, but Link doesn't think it would be right to serve Zelda this catastrophe. With a sigh, he turns back to his pack to rustle around for more ingredients, something he can pull together quickly. Link will eat the soup. Zelda can have something actually edible.

Zelda had fallen through a collapsed floor into complete darkness, the landing from which seemed to be, at least, onto something much softer than stone or earth, but certainly nothing as soft as bedding or hay. She groaned as she sat up, back and head both aching. With the darkness around her, she couldn't see anything - neither rod nor companion.

Which was immediately concerning because Tri glowed brightly wherever they went.

"Tri?" Zelda called out, cupping her hands around her mouth. Her voice echoed after a long moment. The place she landed must have been quite big. "Tri, where are you?"

Slowly, he turns his head (with juices dripping from the bottom of his mask and sticky fingers to boot) to see who caught the so called banana lover in the act of chowing down mangos like they were bananas.

He leaps up, grabbing one extra mango and readying it as a projectile in lieu of his usual metal ball.

This is going to turn into a Ray ( @flockrest / @balladetto ) appreciation post because I could not agree more!! Ray is an outstanding writer and truly gifted when it comes to portraying muses in unique and interesting ways. Each muse has their own narrative voice and it does such a lovely job conveying each character almost instantly. Not only can you hear the dialogue of the different characters as you read the replies, but also you feel what it's like to be those characters! It's an astounding skill and I love every single reply I get. Ray is also an incredibly giving writer, giving me so much to work with whenever I work on replies for each thread that it is truly a gift every single time.

Shion's smile is a bit strained, lips pulled tight over teeth in a look that's more apologetic than pleased. However as Grasshopper slipped the flower crown over his head, the shoddily woven decoration already beginning to crumble, Shion's smile slowly grew into something much more earnest, delighted more by the other's smile than anything else.

Even though he'd been taught the technique by the other Hero himself, Shion still has a long way to go before mastering this particular skill. He had not been one for flower crowns, even before the Calamity and his one-hundred year sleep.

One hand drifted up to his mouth, trying to smooth away the beginnings of a laugh threatening to spill from his lips; he's not laughing at Grasshopper, but rather his own craftsmanship. Shion's hand extended forward, palm up, before moving back towards his chest. << You're welcome. >>

The rain outside thrummed on Shion's roof as he worked in the kitchen. Fortunately they'd gotten back to Hateno village just before the storm really rolled in, otherwise they would have had to spend a night sopping wet in the downpour. Not that Shion hadn't spent such nights outside, but that didn't mean he enjoyed it, not with the comparative warmth and security he had in his house now. Link wasn't sure what Grasshopper was up to while he worked, but Shion could hear a noise every often over his shoulder to tell him he was still nearby.

Reaching over for a bit of sage to use, he caught a whiff of the herb, the subtle tinkling of shifting bowls and silverware, and his memory took over.

And he remembered.... he remembered.

A warm presence over his shoulder, arms circling his, helping him to knead the dough that was much too big by such small hands. It looked much smaller when she did it before, and her hands now reached over to sprinkle more flour into the dough, freeing it from his fingers before she added a pinch more sage as well. 'For flavor--'

Her voice! He remembered her voice!

And he gasped at the realization only for the world to surge back in around him, wide blue eyes spinning around to look at the now empty room. Well, empty except for Grasshopper. A small hiss caught in his teeth, hand moving to his forehead to steady himself. So close that time, he almost saw her face.
