BallAU predecessor

I wanted to share where the BallAU started(well more accurately it's been awhile since I drew Chloe like this and I really wanted to again, and decided why not share this with you guys as well).

This was my first AU I had thought of before the BallAU. It was very different and I couldn't think of anything for it other than trauma happened to Chloe after she went to London and it resulted in her cutting off all her emotions. The idea spawned when I thought she would look cute in a bob and sundress(and boy does she). But you can't write a story on design alone. I was playing with the idea of her only showing her emotions when transformed with a miraculous and being stone faced the rest of the time. But I couldn't think of how she would get one. My first thought was giving her the Bee Miraculous but how would she get it? I don't see this Chloe reaching out for attention from Amaya and Trent. But it was around this time I learned that Chloe did ballet in ML and that sparked the idea of making an Odette costume with Breezee(I had actually started thinking of the Celestial Kwamis years ago and Breezee has pretty much been unchanged since the beginning while I only refined the rest recently). So that is what sparked the idea of Dovely. I designed her and I slowly started to turn away from this AU that I couldn't think of anything for to the BallAU where ideas where just flowing.

Chloe here is older than in the series. She's in her early 20's. She works as Audrey's assistant. All of Audrey's assistants get fired really quick and one day she started ordering Chloe to do the jobs her assistants would do. Chloe, no longer caring, would just do them. If Audrey got upset with her and "fired" her, Chloe would just go home for the day and come back the next as if nothing would happen. Audrey wouldn't notice and now she no longer went through a hoard of assistants.

The only thing I could think of with her was when her and Audrey would go back to Paris. Basically Chloe leaves her classmates feeling very unsettled when they meet her one by one. First they are in disbelief it's her. Then when they realize it's true their feelings change. Some don't care(it's just Chloe after all, serves her right). Some feel pity. Some think it's an act. And some feel guilty because they helped drive her away and that resulted in her becoming this shell of a person. Luka feels unsettled by her. She has NO melody. He hears nothing from her. She sneaks up on himself and startles him without meaning to because he can't hear or sense when she's coming. I feel like she would actually connect with all the heroes positively when she transforms into Dovely and is able to express herself freely.

Then there's Andre. I'm nicer to him in the BallAU but I make him suffer more in this AU. His first time seeing his daughter in like 6 years he is stunned, obviously, by her behavior. He doesn't even recognize her at first until it's pointed out to him. That's when he learns what happened to her and he wasn't there for her. He tries to make it up to her. Showers her with gifts. Tries to get a smile from her. And when he finally breaks down, crying, begging her for forgiveness he gets the same reaction. None.

What happened to Chloe exactly? I'll try not getting to explicit(but trigger warning just in case). Well, obviously, it was bad! I see her at 16 making friends with the wrong crowd. They pretended to like her because she was throwing her money around at them but in reality they hated her. Eventually they couldn't stand her anymore and they hurt her. She ended up in the hospital(that choker she wears hides a scar). She was there for a whole month. Audrey was told because she was her legal guardian but she NEVER told Andre. He, Zoe and Armand would of been there in a heart beat if they knew(Also Noe didn't exist when I started this AU. Not that that would of really mattered). She stayed there for an entire month. No one visited her. No family. No friends. And when she was finally released she still had to do physical therapy(she walks a little funny now). But what did she hear from her mother when she finally came home? "Oh. There you are Kelly. I got a fashion show to attend to tonight so don't wait up" This absolutely snaps her. She has a crash out pretty similar to the one in the Prequel chapter but this has an added part. She cuts all her hair and finally gives up on happiness. Gives up on hate. Gives up on sadness. Gives up on anger. As you can see it's starting to get on edge lord, fanfic territory which is partially why I wanted to stop on this idea. I never intended to touch on certain aspects that sometimes comes with physical assault(if you know what I mean...) but she does almost die and it had to be traumatic enough to justify the complete personality change.

But in the end that's pretty much the AU in it's entirety. I never thought of villians. I never thought of where Chloe was meant to be emotionally by the end or how her relationships with everyone was supposed to play out. I don't even know how she gets the Dove Garter and Breezee. Just that she has them. This idea has been sitting around for a year now and I can't come up with anything and I don't think I care to. I just really love how she looks here and wanted to draw her again. I figured some of you may be interested to see where the BallAU started so I decided to share this time.

I'm currently working on rewriting chapter 5. I looked at it a few days ago and realized it needed a major overhaul. It had things written that are no longer true in this Au. I didn't like how much I tried to shove in there. It really messed with the pacing. After I finish re-writing it I'll decided how it will be structured(comic, storyboard, or something else).

I feel like I'm not good at drawing kissing. I get embarrassed sometimes. So I needed the practice.

I don't see this as being Canon to the main events of my AU. They probably won't get to the kissing stage by the end of it but I'm sorry! I love Chloe with the dove I wanted to do a kiss with it!(it's weird to compliment my own design) The reason I don't use season 6 Viperion design is because A) the og design is easier to draw and B) I like it more. I incorporated a tiny bit of the season 6 design but not much.

When is ballet AU chapter 6 coming out2

So I'm not sure when I'll start drawing the chapter but I have the story board doodled out so I can start anytime.

The thing about the Ballet AU is I never thought I would do more than the Dovely chapter. I never planned for this story to have a beginning, middle, and end. But after working on this for almost a year I'm kinda getting a feeling that I CAN!

But I'm not really a complete story kind of person. I'm more of a one-shot kind of person(as seen with my Zootopia one-shots). So after I released chapter 5 I wrote out a Google doc with all my ideas and all I want to tackle in this story. And I feel like there's enough there to make a satisfying, complete story. But I needed help. So I asked @generalluxun(thank you again for helping me!) who actually has experience writing stories, to review my outline and give me some pointers. It was incredibly helpful. It gave me ideas, made me rethink some things and just help give me the confidence to keep going forward.

So now that I have an outline for the story ready I have started storyboarding EVERY chapter.

Here you can see all the chapters I have story board and are ready to be drawn as an official chapter. I'm hopping around wherever I get the spark of inspiration so there are some in-between chapters missing. But this will give you an idea of how much I have planned and that I'm still working behind the scenes even if I don'tmake any updates on here.

After I finish making all the chapters storyboards I'll read everything to see if it's a satisfying story and flows well. And then I will start drawing the Manga style chapters.

So long story short I don't know when chapter 6 will get released but I have been working on the Ballet AU.
