I really don't like how Victoria Carrillo is everywhere on youtube and tiktok and pinterest and all that. She has a gift and that's undeniable, definitely a great future in ballet, but that extreme focus on her rubs me the wrong way. Imagine having that many eyes on you at 13yo, and it started when she was even younger. Most if not all real opportunities come with auditions and not fame, and it doesn't seem that she needs the socmed fame to help her what with being top 3 at YAGP (several times i think even?). The videos are cute but i find it weird to have Eva interrupt her private to make more views by having her dancing the variation she wants (not even the one she's rehearsing), Master Ballet Academy using her in their ads (as much as i love the vids let's be honest, that's what they are) or even just in general people other than her posting everything online for everyone to see bc i'm not sure how consensual that actually is. Like yeah she can say she doesn't want that posted but would a 12yo really always have the guts to refuse her ballet teacher and in general people who could theoretically make or break the dream she moved her whole family across country for? Did we really learn nothing from dance moms ? well obviously not when they're rebooting it but

My group is the opening number of my ballet school's show to the theme of Howl's Moving Castle, it's gonna be awesome :)
I was excited to wear my pale pink fuzzy wrap around top at ballet and failed to take into account that of course we would have heating today what with tempest Amy in the area. Took it off halfway through barre and so I showed off my leotard I guess. Surprisingly, I was actually pretty confident so I might do that more often.
