the real thing i've gained from ballet is the ability to snap in half like a flip phone

Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, watching The Nutcracker is something I do every single year despite not being religious. So given the fact that a lot of the shows of The Nutcracker have been canceled all around the world, I thought I'd share some resources on shows available online:

Firstly some of my favourite moments from the ballet:

The Sugar Plum Fairy pas de deux performed here by Marianela Nunez and Vadim Muntagirov (THEY ARE AMAZING IF YOU WATCH ANYTHING FROM THIS LIST WATCH THIS)

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy performed by Lauren Cuthbertson (my favourite version of this variation)

Act I Pas de Deux performed by Marcelino Sambé and Anna Rose O'sullivan (JUST PURE MAGIC)

Balanchine's Nutcracker performed in full by the New York City Ballet - this one is the one most performed across America

The Bolshoi's Nutcracker in full - this one has arguably the most difficult Sugar Plum Fairy solo in all the versions of Nutcracker

The Nutcracker in full with the Royal Swedish Ballet and Berlin Stat Ballet and former dancers from Royal Danish Ballet and Gothenburg Opera Ballet also has students from the Swedish National Ballet School and Royal Swedish Ballet School.

The National Ballet of China's Nutcracker in full

The Nutcracker Ballet in full by the Korean National Ballet - this is the version created by Grigorovich for the Bolshoi Ballet

The Nutcracker by The Russian State Ballet

The Semperoper Ballet's Nutcracker - the snowflakes in this one are AMAZING

This is obviously in no way shape or form done in a malicious way to harm the copyrighted material but more so that people can have some form of access to ballet in such a difficult time.

When possible I recommend that EVERYONE go watch a production live where you live because nothing compares to seeing the magic happen right in front of you <3
